What the club says: The Bude & North Cornwall Golf Club is surrounded by the town and the sea. Described as a challenging links course which was established in 1891. The drainage systems are excellent and enables the course to be playable throughout the year off regular tees and greens, making it one of Cornwall's strongest golf courses. Buggy Hire is always available.

Great course in decent weather.
Tough in windy conditions and several holes require guidance on where to aim with plenty of blind shots if your out of position.Lots of bunkers to avoid but little water.
I wouldn't recommend this course to a new golfer as a few of tee shots have the added hazards of nearby roads and multiple public footpaths.
The pro shop seemed well stocked & the changing rooms have decent showers.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to visit the bar but the outside terrace looked very nice.
Overall, recommended.

A frustrating day
Spent as much time trying to work out which green to go for as we did playing shots. Not helped by the fact that it was a quiet and there were no locals we could follow. Won't be rushing back to play it again.Reviewer Rating

Great links course

Difficult course and poor signage
The course was quite challenging, and tees poorly signposted although club advised this is being addressed in due course. The club was very welcoming and friendly and would definitely play there againReviewer Rating

Tricky links course
A typical links course with lots of blind shots, tricky undulations and a real wind blowing. The course is on quite a tight layout and it’s often difficult to know where you are aiming for when you are playing the course for the first time. There is a map of the course on the scorecard but it is still difficult to negotiate round the course. Some improved signage would I think help matters. Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable round and I received a good welcome in both the pro’s shop and the clubhouse.(Round played: Feb 2022 - Score: 107 Handicap: 24.3)

Played yesterday. Very good service. First time playing on the course. Greens were true and fairways in good condition. Could do with better signage, especially in greens that are not visible.. Numbered Hole markers would be better on the fairway than on the rough, which are very confusing as it was difficult to distinguish whether the fairway is on the left or right of these numbered holes.Will visit again, enjoy the challenge .

Very good links in the middle of a lovely seaside town. Expect hills especially on the back 9. Fairways and greens in good nick. Small road in between the front nine but I think that adds to the traditional seaside town links character. Excellent pro shop and bar. Immaculate.
Only negatives. Public footpath in between course. Would be a pain on a busy weekend with walkers. A few more tee direction signs would be good. But for £30ish midweek, a bargain.

If you're not a local, you should avoid
Lots of blind shots. Fairways almost nonexistent, holes merge into one another with a crazy amount of public footpaths crossing the course from all angles. Club pro was very friendly, but old timer members, not so much.Reviewer Rating

Too many public footpaths across the course.Very poor signage to next tee.

Very attractive links, got a warm welcome in their spring Open. A lot of contour for the seaside, not long but a fairly hard walk. Very nice mix of easy and difficult holes, several are really very good indeed.
Needs another practise net and depth marked flags would be good, fairways and greens were ok without being outstanding.
That said, it’s a very enjoyable course and under rated here, could be in the top 400 IMO

Had enjoyed morning playing bude. Invited to go round with 3 friendly members which helped some what because there is a few blind shots. First links type course I've played. Course in great condition. Pity I didn't play that well. Would play again.

Great traditional links
What a great course / experience. This course is a true links experience of a course set amongst the town.If you like parkland golf then this set-up will probably not float your boat. If however you enjoy a natural course with a play it as it lies outlook then it is for you.
Staff are all good, but a special mention to those behind the bar - always very welcoming when we visit.

This is not a cause I would play again there are to many holes that are play blind too hills and hollows maybe I'm not a lover of links clauses.

Hard course
Very tricky course with a lot of blind tee shots where you are not 100% sure where the fairway is (never mind the green) if you like a challenge I would recommend it! Stay clear of the rough and bang a driver down there about 280 and you should be fine on most holes though ;-)(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 91 Handicap: 20.7)

If you go to Bude expecting a championship links course you will be disappointed but if you go expecting a great value holiday links you'll be delighted. Although we played it in February 17 the greens were in good nick and very true and the fairways nice and firm. We also had breakfast which was excellent quality and plentiful. All round a very enjoyable experience!

Could not understand the fairway marker post system on the blind holes, which most of them were. The posts just gave the fairway number with the shot sometimes being over, to the left or to the right. Loved the par 5 ninth.

Bude is a good links course. If you approach the course expecting hard fairways, some wind, some blind shots, some fair & unfair bounces then you will not be disappointed. If you turn-up expecting lush parkland fairways, ball sitting up ready to hit every time - then yes sorry you will likely be disappointed. Embrace the challenge, the variety of holes and shots required and you will leave a better and exhilarated player. Footnote - the clubhouse has a great friendly feel to it, well done the bar / catering staff

Having read the positive reviews I was looking forward to playing Bude and giving my 10 year old son his first Links experience. What a disappointment! The course was in poor condition, there are dangerous tee blind shots and it is less than picturesque. I'm glad we didn't pay more than our £20 green fees.
