What the club says: The Warren is a traditional links course of 5968 yards, designed in its present form by James Braid and playing to a par of 69. The fairways are natural, unspoilt duneland turf on the seaward side, with lusher grasses on the estuary side.

Authentic treat
Played from the whites to get the distances up as some of the holes on the card were a bit short. When given mats to play off we weren't sure but were very pleasantly surprised to play 18 very interesting holes with great greens, some par 3s requiring driver off the tee against the wind. Golf as it used to be played, no frills, a delight.Reviewer Rating

Slow and narrow
We played as a two-ball and we expected a round of this sie course to take around 3:30-4hrs however it took us 5hrs. I have to give credit where it's due the views are unbelievable. The narrow course design doesn't fit the amateur golfer as many four shows and just a slight miss left is sea or people teeing off.Reviewer Rating

Tight unique course
If you like a traditional links this is the place for you. Runs very fast and firm brown fairways etc. Greens run well. Watch out for the 6th which is very Sandy lay up well back for a full shot.Reviewer Rating

Not bad
I like the Warren - lots don't. Greens are great, and it's always playable. Fairways can be a bit shonky, but hey, it's links golf, get on with it!! Nice friendly clubhouse too.(Round played: Jul 2021 - Score: 91 Handicap: 18.4)

Played at the Warren today (28/10/20)£20 green fee.. very good value... a golf course with character.. challenging in the conditions (windy and wet) but a traditional and quality links course. Great scenery and greens that were true and good paced. Worth a visit. Anchor Pub 10 mins away also good.

Nice course shame about the weather!
Nice course, pick and place on fairways which looked fairly rough but had soft tops so could get decent hit on ball, greens excellent, finished front 9 before the rain absolutely p?d down and got soaked, course flooded quickly and although we carried on was probably unplayable, last few holes rain stopped and drained quickly, 18th green is odd, looks like once was a practice area and been added on as an after thought redReviewer Rating

Lovely
We played on on a chilly but calm bank holiday Monday. We arrived 30 mins before our tee but unfortunately the kitchen wasn’t open for a coffee or breakfast but the pro did let us go out early. The pro was very pleasant and informative, defo knew his stuff. The course is great, tight but as holes run along side each other you can spray it about to some degree. Some great holes on the back nine needing you to tee off over the sea. Greens were good although very flat. Overall really enjoyed this course and for £22 can’t grumble, also lunch was fantastic after.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 77 Handicap: 8.6)

Challenging course
A superb course for a sunny day by the beach. This course has many straight holes but also some challening dogleg holes which will cause you to lose balls.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 113 Handicap: 26.5)

A challenging links test
Dawlish is a wonderful course which you have to play a few times to really appreciate. There are pot bunkers located on the fairways which you cannot clearly see from the tee, which you really want to avoid. Apart from the spectacular views and scenery, the greens were in magnificent condition and are superb for putting on, all credit to the green keeping staff. I have played numerous courses in Devon, yet Dawlish is certainly one of my favourites.Reviewer Rating

First 8 holes the fairways were very dry - back nine much better - greens are truly excellent - Interesting start and finish to the round - friendly club and bar. Excellent value (£20 each for a three ball using county cards). We play off 12, 12 and 18 - challenging holesReviewer Rating
