What the club says: East Devon is regarded by many as one of the finest courses in the South West and is well reviewed in the Top 100 Golf Courses of the British Isles. At 6231 yards, it is not a long course, but offers a fair and interesting test of golf that requires accurate shot-making in order to score well. The fairways have been cut through a profusion of heather and gorse and, according to Peter Alliss, the 16th tee provides ‘the best view in golf’.

Nice course with some great views
Nice course no waiting around being held up on the TOther players very friendly out on the course and in the club house, it was a nice day and seen some lovely views out on the course.

Course worth playing
Not a ?75 a round golf course.there are plenty of other courses around.that are lot better value for money.Where you can get food a lot earlier in the day.Although food is very good!Reviewer Rating

Good Course
Played here October , 2019 .Good course but hard walking .
I suppose it's a cliff top & although there are views of the sea ( trees obscure the view sometimes ) it doesn't feel as if you are right next to it unlike some other courses .
The best view is from the 16th tee , the courses high point . The course has several steep climbs particularly the par 5 12th ,which is a killer & is soon followed by the uphill par 4 14th .Fortunately, the last few holes head downwards back to the clubhouse.
Nice overall condition & greens .
The £60 standard green fee is silly for what you get & is probably in place to keep the general public away .We played late in the hope of having a clear run & were told a few days before that it was completely empty for an hour before our tee time but found on arrival for it to be very busy & we had to wait on nearly every shot on the front 9 to the extent that we were concerned that we wouldn't get the round in .Luckily players ahead skipped out some holes so were able to have a clear run for the last 8 holes & get it in.We could have just been unlucky on the day i guess.
Although this is a decent course with many good holes for me it's another course to tick off & not be that fussed about playing again mainly because of it's hard walking nature.

I recently played a men’s 4 ball open five and half hour round 45 mins waiting on the 8th tee then when finished we was presented with a meal that was awful child size portions cold lasagne terrible for a club with a good reputation they let themselves down badly!.

Worth a visit.
Visited this course with a group from our Club and I thought the the layout and views were spectacular.Although not overlong, the course requires strategic approach as most of the greens are undulating but in great condition.
Regrettably, the day ended with with a poor meal and the Club needs to address this. The steak pie was unacceptable and a request for cheese instead of the dessert was refused on the grounds that they had no cheese. Disappointing.

Fantastic course
A very good course that was in excellent condition when we visited. Fairways and green excellent but if you deviate into the heather it is very tough. The first couple of par 4's are short so care is needed not to always take the driver. 17th was the favourite hole as its a real challenge. Great views of the sea and coast come as standard, and are worth the trip. Friendly in the pro shop.(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 86 Handicap: 12)

Loved this course. We got a ?22 deal on teeofftimes.co.uk for a 12:00 tee time. Probably the most picturesque course ive played in this country and the quality for the time of year was amazing. Highly recomended

Worthy of a review this course - played a few times the last few years and its a hidden gem. Excellent views throughout the course and a good golfing challenge - beware the thick heather if you stray off the fairway. Excellent golf course.
