What The Club Says
Branston has a full range of golf facilities with the 18-hole, par 72 picturesque golf course situated in Burton, Staffordshire, alongside the River Trent with excellent views over the river and into South Derbyshire. Challenging and yet very enjoyable with water featuring on 16 of the 18 holes. The 9-hole, par 30 parkland academy course has four sets of tees on each hole. Ideal for all standards of golfer, especially those wishing to practice their short game and approach shots. Greens kept to same excellent standard as the 18-hole course.

Tidy
There fairways are a bit barren, but the dry summer has left every course playing like a links course, unreasonable to expect fairways to be watered whilst hose pipe bins are just round the corner. The greens were really good, consistent speed and run nicely. Hard to get much stop, but again, the dry summer will impact this.Reviewer Rating

Disappointed
Extremely disappointed playing Branston today, not a warm welcome on arrival, poor overpriced breakfast, staff were miserable and poor service.Golf course was in shocking condition, tees had very little grass with big holes on some and very uneven, fairways ? What fairways ? Undistinguishable with tufty grass bare in places and very uneven brown and dead have you ever heard of watering ? Greens actually had grass and appeared to have been introduced to water but played poorly.
Course has many electricity pylons and wires crossing the course which are in play resulting in lovely drives hitting wires and either reducing distance or loss of ball.
Scorecard had no plan or rules stated.
Championship course ? Far from it very disappointing seems to have great potential but clueless operators I would AVOID plenty of better places to play.

Greens not in great condition
Have played here before and last summer the course was in much better condition. The tee boxes were well maintained, fairways firm but ok, but green were very spongy and bumpy. Maybe they’ll improve as season progresses as they had recently been treated.Reviewer Rating

Bunker issues
Good course to play only downside is the bunkers, not enough sand in them, at £40 a round you would expect perfectionReviewer Rating
