What the club says: Set along 1.5 miles of beach, this incredible new course features monumental sand dunes from which you can enjoy wonderful sea views. It is the only Greg Norman designed course in the British Isles and he has achieved near perfection in his first conquest of links terrain. The relatively new course has already had the honour of hosting the 2002 Palmer Cup.

Exceptional golf course and venue

forget the politics this is simply a wonderful golf facility created and tendered by golfers for golfers. It is superbly located and the design by Greg Norman is simply awesome. Expect to be distracted in the first tee as you wait your turn to play. the views are simply jaw dropping.members watch from the clubhouse betting on where the ball will end up. the facility has an American style and base so the service quality his nothing short of superb in every respect. practice facility is excellent with buggy's to take the clients back to the main golf course. food is simply awesome and the style of service is not intrusive but of the highest quality. I loved it here and would be happy to revisit at any time having experienced the type of quality this offers the visiting golfer. many wedding parties from the US situate here so don't expect rapid progress if behind them but having spoken to local members this is a very rare issue as the concierge and starters are mindful to avoid such an issue. This is not a cheap venue hence the drop in VFM rating. did I think my trip was worth the cost. Y4s and I would travel again to enjoy the delights own offer.

Trumps best

This is a most enjoyable course with fantastic facilities and views of the beach. The course is top quality and the greens are true but fair. The roadway is easy to find and practice area are due to passion. The greens do a fantastic scene. Keep up the great work and ye will be back.

Amazing

Doonbeg is definately the best course I have played.
Everything about it was fantastic.
The welcome from the staff.
The Caddie master and starter, all very friendly.
The course was in immaculate condition with unbelievable views.
One of the top courses of the world.

Pleasantly surprised by this course. Greens were slow, having just been relaid, but true. Good mix of holes, with some spectacular seaside elevated drives. Lovely scenery and very welcoming staff. Only paid 50 euro on a twilight rate.
