Abysmal Club
So these guys promote special rates to locals in the BH Postcode. Then they bombarde you you with offers, my wife and I played twice and it was OK, nothing spectacular. then we played a week ago 17.08.2025, 4 hours 25 minutes in and we gave up on hole 14 ( Lakeland- Parkland). Booked again to play today 25.05.2025. Realtor see that for the last four weeks even though we had given buggy key back to bar, no refund d of deposit had been made (£15.00). Complained but buy behind desk couldnt give a monkeys. Went out at 1pm today as a two ball, 3 hours to do 9 holes behind god knows how many four balls, e eventually after five hours gave up at hole 14 without completing, complained and the guy behind the counter just said it is what it is. This is a very mediocre course in the middle of nowhere seemingly run by people who couldnt give a toss if you have a good game, bad game or ever return. I would advise to steer well clear..Reviewer Rating

With the lack of rain the fairways are running. The greens are exceptionally good and quick. Away from the course the staff are great and the food extremely tasty.Reviewer Rating

Well worth a visiting three changing course
Considering how much dry weather we have had all three courses were in reasonable conditions the greens we're in good condition obviously watered well unfortunately the bunkers where not in such good condition with varying amount of very course sand? the answer don't go in them but all in all very enjoyableReviewer Rating

Quiet location
Lovely course offering three different nines with the Parkland/Lakeland nines being the popular choice. Course offers a fairly level walk with water hazards and well placed bunkers. If you have time play the Woodland nine especially when the Rhododendrons are in flower, a real picture. All the nines have fairly quick greens so take your pick and enjoyReviewer Rating

Good Course
Played after a lot of heavy rain the course played really well if lacking the run on the fairways, naturally. The greens were in really good condition. Only two of the fairways were very soft and wet but definitely playable. Lovely setting and the food in the clubhouse was excellent. Had a deal for a round of golf coffee and sausage baguette for £30 great winter valueReviewer Rating

One of the most enjoyable courses to play in Dorset
I have played the Dorset G&CC a number of times but not for many years. The main course (Lakeland and Parkland nines)is one of the most enjoyable layouts you will come across. Such a great variety of holes with great use of water (lakes and streams). It's designed by Martin Hawtree so this is to be expected. The greens were excellent, pretty quick and pure, and the fairways were also in great shape. However tees were a bit bare, although this didn't affect how they played. The bunkers were a bit of an issue with many having large puddles in them even though it hadn't rained in a fair few days. But this didn't detract from the enjoyment of the course. It is great value for money and with a bit more TLC it would be one of the best courses in the county.Reviewer Rating

Always Open
One of only a few courses open in all this wet weather. Considering all the rain this course has three loops of nine and can spread players out. The Woodland nine was the least wet and muddy of the 3 nines. All nines were on main tees and greens but a lot of the fairways were extremely wet and very muddy in certain areas but overall playable, just.Reviewer Rating

Course overall was in very good condition considering a weeks worth of rain with excellent pace on the greens. There was a notice saying all bunkers out of play due to the rainfall and having lost a ball in one you can understand why

Course was in good order considering the rain we have had. Greens ran well and quite quick, fairways and tees in good shape. Excellent Course
We played this club during a 2 night/3 round stay. The greens were probably the best I’ve played on in this country. We played on the day of the club championships and came across some brilliant pin positions. There was interesting holes on all three of the nines. Only downside was a five and a half hour round on the Monday, caused by a visiting society/group. The course does need a marshall. Bunkers were out of play due to recent heavy rain damage, but this didn’t really detract from our enjoyment.
