Paul Waring and Toby Tree Sign with Wolsey Sportsman

By: Golf Shake | Thu 12 Mar 2015

Wolsey, one of the oldest existing clothing companies in the world, has announced the signing of Paul Waring and Toby Tree to represent the brand on the PGA European Tour, joining Eddie Pepperell and Robert Rock as brand ambassadors.

Waring, who has agreed a multi-year deal with Wolsey, turned professional in 2007 and was progressing well on the European Tour before being hit by injury in 2011 and 2012. Since getting back to full fitness he has recorded a handful of top 10 finishes and shown some promising performances. As an amateur, Paul was part of the team that secured the Jacques Leglise Trophy in both 2002 and 2003, as well as playing for England boys, youths and seniors during the period 2001-06.

Said Waring, “I am really looking forward to getting out on the course sporting the Wolsey Fox.  It’s a great brand and the clothes are really well made, using the highest quality fabrics and latest trends with high levels of performance. If I’m looking and feeling good on the course I can concentrate on my game and get results.”

Louis Wolcott, Wolsey brand director said, “Bringing Paul on board is exciting for Wolsey.  He’s a great player who has fought his way back from injury to keep his card and cement his place on Tour. He embodies the spirit of the brand with his determination and sense of adventure.”

Tree, who turned professional in September last year, has signed a multi-year agreement with Wolsey to wear its Sportsman collection.

“Toby is an exciting talent and fits well with our vision for the future of Wolsey. He is a great addition to the team of pioneers we are building and he champions the brand’s spirit of adventure,” continued Louis Wolcott.

Winner of the Welsh Amateur Championship in 2014, Tree has had a stellar amateur career that includes 3rd place in the European Team Championship, victory as part of the England team against France last year, and England U16 champion in 2010. He has been a regular fixture in the England team, representing his country at the European Cup of Nations, international matches and team championships.

“Signing with Wolsey in my first season as a professional is a massive confidence boost for me and I am excited about representing them on Tour,” said Tree. “The clothes look great and perform really well on the course.”

Both Paul and Toby join a team of inspiring Wolsey Pioneers that includes Robert Rock and Eddie Pepperell and will wear apparel from the new spring/summer 2015 Sportsman collection, available now from wolsey.com, trendygolf.com and at selected pro shops across the UK.
