Does Golf need a lot more of the 16th at Pheonix?

By: | Wed 29 Jan 2014

Waste Management Phoenix Open

Over the years the 16th hole at Phoenix has slowly built an amazing legacy to become what is today one of the most iconic holes in golf. Now, you could argue that the hole is not particularly special. It's design does not stand out, it is not quirky in anyway, so why then is it so iconic? 20'000 fans on one hole! That is what has made the 16th at Phoenix just so iconic.

So the question is, if 20'000 fans are willing to squeeze onto one average par 3 to create an unbelievable atmosphere, should golf being doing more of this?

Feel free to have your say and comment below....

The Waste Management Open is due to start in Phoenix on Thursday and the 16th will yet again be the centre of attention.
