St Mellion International Manager enjoys Christmas chart success

St Mellion International Resort’s new Sales and Marketing Manager, Lisa Brammer, has something extra to think about this Christmas – an album in the charts.

Along with her responsibilities at one of the UK’s most popular golfing destinations, Lisa travels throughout the country singing in the Military Wives Choir, and is featured on the recently-released Stronger Together album.

Already this year she has sung at the Queen’s Jubilee at Buckingham Palace; in front of 60,000 rugby fans at Twickenham; and at The Royal Albert Hall’s Remembrance Sunday concert. Earlier this year she also sang on the Number 1 hit “Sing”, with Take That’s Gary Barlow, after visiting London’s Abbey Road studios to record the single.

“My job at St Mellion doesn’t involve much singing” said Brammer, “but I do enjoy the creative side of sales and marketing. A goal of mine is to attract larger events both to St Mellion and to the south west in general, and I hope to bring fresh creativity to the task of developing St Mellion’s external communications.

“We all need to get the word out that golf is for everyone,” she said.

Lisa joined St Mellion International Resort in 2009 in a business development role, after an early career in the hotels and events industry, and was promoted to her current job in the autumn of this year.

Among the marketing initiatives which Lisa will be heading up at St Mellion in 2013 are a drive to encourage more golfers to book early, and direct with the Resort; and a celebration of the 25th Anniversary of St Mellion’s internationally-known Nicklaus Signature Course.

With a strong musical background, Lisa was encouraged to join the Military Wives Choir in November 2011, shortly after the choir’s formation following the BBC TV series The Choir: Military Wives. The choir helps the wives and girlfriends of British servicemen express themselves through song, and raises money for the Royal British Legion and the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) charities, as well as for the Military Wives Foundation.

Scottish by birth, Lisa Brammer came to Plymouth in her teens as a result of family Naval connections to the city. Her fiancé is a Royal Marine and she is planning her wedding – at St Mellion naturally – for summer 2013.
