ECCO Biom Hybrid Wins Product of the Year at the Pro-Shop Europe Awards
Danish brand ECCO, a leading global manufacturer of innovative footwear, has claimed the latest in a string of awards for their groundbreaking golf shoe collection. Biom Hybrid, the brand’s 2012 premiere innovation, picked up the sort-after Product of the Year award at the renowned Pro-Shop Europe Awards held on Thursday, November 15, 2012.
A fusion of two flagship ECCO designs, Golf Street and Biom Golf, Biom Hybrid combines ECCO Natural Motion technology with the company’s patented, award-winning Golf Street EDTS (ECCO Dynamic Traction System) outsole. ECCO’s star product of 2012 fought of stiff competition from many of golf’s household names. This is yet further confirmation of ECCO’s position as the pioneering brand in golf.
The ECCO Street EDTS (ECCO Dynamic Traction System) outsole boasts a patented configuration of approximately 100 moulded traction bars and 800-plus traction angles. Constructed from TPU, a highly durable, wear-resistant material – these elements provide superior grip in all conditions.
“To win this award is a huge honour, It’s affirmation of the quality and performance of our hybrid products as well as the esteem of the personnel throughout our golf team. Biom Hybrid has been rip-roaring success internationally, and we’ve even improved it for the 2012 season!” says Michael Waack, Head of Global Golf at ECCO. “At ECCO we continually strive to find ways of improving products further, to find the perfect golf shoe. Our latest modernization, Tour Hybrid, will set the benchmark even higher.”
The 2013 collection will be worn in competition by Tour stars Fred Couples, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjorn, Thongchai Jaidee, Stuart Appleby, Bradley Dredge and Andreas Hartø.
