Callaway Golf announce new sales structure to focus on customer service

By: | Fri 12 Oct 2012

Callaway Golf: Industry Press Release

Callaway today announces important changes to its UK and Ireland sales team that immediately positions the company to deliver enhanced levels of customer service and support to its network of retailers in this part of their business.

The golf industry has seen a significant polarization in recent years with a reduction in the number of large independent retailers, whilst larger multi-site retail businesses have significantly grown their high street and online operations.

Reacting to these changes and in preparation for the introduction of some exciting new products in 2013, Callaway has realigned its sales force structure to support all routes to market including the UK’s network of green grass professionals, the lifeblood of the on-course retail business.

Martin Wild, Callaway’s UK and Ireland Sales Manager, said: “I’m excited about our new sales structure. The golf industry is unique because of the existence of green grass professionals and they have a very important role to play in Callaway’s UK business. Custom Fitting is paramount to future success for these green grass pros and I believe our new sales structure will add additional support to this area and drive revenues for us both.

“The Regional Account Managers will give an increased focus to our major accounts, the Area Sales Managers in Scotland and Ireland will continue to drive their accounts forward and the Area Sales Representatives / Fitting Technicians will give us the balanced coverage at green grass level by providing a ‘meets the needs service’ that will include Fitting Days to deliver increased revenue for both parties.”
