The Golf Foundation does tremendous work to support many initiatives around the game and that effort will be further enhanced after England's Charley Hull secured a significant charity donation of approximately £75,000 ($95,000) after finishing joint second at the recent Tito’s Shorties Classic in America.

It's an event that brings together leading professional golfers, creators and personalities to compete on a compact, par-3 style course in Austin, Texas, with players competing for a first, second, third, or fourth place finish and a donation from Love, Tito’s, the philanthropic heart of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, to causes of their choice. The fast-paced format places a premium on creativity, precision and fan engagement, while ensuring that the event delivers meaningful charitable impact alongside world-class sport.

Hull’s performance earned her causes of choice $100,000, in combined donations from Love, Tito’s, with the majority of the donation dollars going to the Golf Foundation, who announced her as an ambassador in 2025. Playing for the Golf Foundation as her charity of choice reflects Hull’s personal commitment to helping more young people access golf and benefit from the life skills the sport can provide.

The funding will support the Golf Foundation’s work across the Home Nations, with a particular focus on two flagship programmes - GolfSixes League and Unleash Your Drive in Schools.

GolfSixes League is a nationwide team-based competition that introduces young people to golf through a modern, inclusive and social format. Designed to remove traditional barriers to club golf, it emphasises teamwork, fun and belonging, helping young players feel comfortable and confident in a club environment. Hull has thrown her support behind GolfSixes League since joining the Golf Foundation, supporting the programme’s aim to create welcoming pathways into the sport for children of all backgrounds. In 2025, 25% of the 9,000-plus players who took part were girls.

The donation will be used to produce more of the resources that clubs and golfers receive each year as they continue their journey into the game.

Unleash Your Drive in Schools is the Golf Foundation’s mental wellbeing programme. Through six structured sessions, children are introduced to golf while learning mental toughness and wellbeing skills such as focus, emotional control, confidence and resilience. Results have shown a rise in mental wellbeing among the pupils involved, as well as a better lifelong understanding of the tools needed to face challenges in life.

Every £10 the Golf Foundation receives can help to get another pupil on the six week programme, so Hull’s donation could see up to 7,500 pupils receive Unleash Your Drive in their schools.

Charley Hull said: "Events like the Tito’s Shorties Classic show how golf can be fun, creative and make a real difference at the same time. The Golf Foundation works right at the grassroots, giving kids their first experiences of golf and helping them build confidence through it. Supporting GolfSixes League and Unleash Your Drive felt like a great way to help more young people get those opportunities."

Brendon Pyle, Chief Executive of the Golf Foundation, said: "Charley’s decision to choose the Golf Foundation as her benefitting cause for such a significant amount is both generous and impactful. This support will allow us to reach more children through schools, communities and golf clubs, using golf as a vehicle to build confidence, resilience and a lifelong connection to the sport. Her ongoing commitment as a GolfSixes League ambassador makes this contribution even more meaningful."
