Now is The Perfect Time to Book a 2022 Golf Break

By: Golfshake Editor | Tue 22 Feb 2022

As we move towards the golfing season, there’s nothing quite like the anticipation of warmer weather, longer evenings and drier courses! However, for those not willing to hang around for the Great British climate to play ball, a golf break can offer the perfect solution.

Early springtime is a busy time of year for our partners at Golfbreaks, as customers look to get some golf in the pre-season sunshine. As travel restrictions have disappeared, why not head away on your own European break between March and April, taking advantage of both the warm weather, and some fantastic deals.

Whilst we’re all aware of the blissful temperatures in the summer, many golfers don’t realise that Spain and Portugal offer incredible golfing conditions through the early part of the year too - with the Algarve averaging in the high-teens between March and April, and the Costa del Sol often seeing the mercury reach as high as 25º in the weeks following The Masters. Plus, for those that are willing to travel further afield, Turkey, the Canary Islands, and the UAE all offer optimal conditions in the first few months of the year.

UK Golf Breaks

The Vale Resort

If you’re planning on staying closer to home over the coming months, the team at Golfbreaks have you covered too, with plenty of options for getaways here in the UK. Given the unpredictability of the weather, quick-draining coastal courses offer some fantastic options for early season golf, with some of our favourites including breaks to Kent (staying at the Lodges at Prince's), or Bournemouth - with its city-centre location also providing loads to do after your round!

Additionally, some of the UK’s best golfing resorts are also a great place to head this spring. With courses across the country starting to come into bloom, destinations such as The Belfry, Celtic Manor, The Vale, and the Forest of Arden all offer the convenience of being able to park the car and forget about it for a weekend; leaving you to get on with the important job of taking the cash in your fourball!

If you are able to be flexible with your dates, be sure to check out pricing for midweek getaways with Golfbreaks, as these can often be much cheaper than at the weekend. Furthermore, these midweek slots may also reward you with other add-ons (such as group drinks deals), and will give you a broader selection of tee-times to choose from when compared with Saturday and Sunday mornings.

If you are looking to make a booking with Golfbreaks through the early part of the year, make sure to speak to their sales agents about added extras included in their promotional booking windows, with the company’s focus on creating a trip that is More Than a Golf Break. These extras can often be anything from free tee-times, free group places, and even a free Callaway driver dependent on the date of your booking! What’s more, Golfbreaks customers are eligible for ‘breakpoints’, a points-based loyalty program which can save you money on your future booking; something definitely worth taking a look at for those making regular bookings with the company!

Autumn Travel

Golfbreaks

Later in the golfing calendar, those starting to think about travel for autumn should also be considering getting their breaks’ booked in soon too, particularly if travelling in a larger group. September continues to be the busiest time for European trips by Golfbreaks customers, with premium tee-times at the biggest courses in Spain and Portugal already starting to get snapped up.

In terms of a recommendation, a base around the harbour in Vilamoura gives easy access to a plethora of courses, with nightlife and restaurants in abundance too. However, tee-times and hotel rooms in this idyllic golfing mecca are always hugely sought-after, so make sure you get your group booked in early!

Or for something truly special, why not make 2022 a year to really remember with a break to the likes of Mauritius, South Africa or the USA?

Whether you want to just experience one of the most beautiful holiday destinations on the planet, follow in the footsteps of the world’s best golfers or even create your own Golf & Safari break, Golfbreaks can help build a trip for every group imaginable! Flights can often be the biggest costs with trips like this, so we’d recommend booking in now for travel in winter 2022 to keep these as low as possible. But, that’s where our practical advice finishes! We’ll leave it to you to decide which great adventure you really want to tick off the bucket list this year.
