TaylorMade TRUSS Putters Review

By: Golfshake Editor | Wed 18 Mar 2020

There are many unique and striking putter designs in the golf industry, and TaylorMade's new Truss is another example, created to provide something for those golfers who are seeking the performance of a high-MOI mallet in a traditional shape.

Unquestionably distinctive, TaylorMade collected data on 40,000 putts hit by golfers of various skill levels and tracked the most common area of the face where strikes occur. Results showed that more than half of the strikes occurred on the toe-side of centre, which causes deflection and can lead to offline putts.

Taking that information, the manufacturer has produced a model of putter that will look familiar to golfers at address, but when you look at the face, you will see the defining feature of the range which is the hosel structure.

However, just who is this designed for, and could it be for you? PGA Professional and Golfshake's Equipment Expert, Ryan Rastall took the new Truss out onto the putting green at Howley Hall Golf Club in Leeds to talk through the technology, the philosophy behind the putters, and to discover just how they perform under testing.

Have you tried one yet, or would you consider after seeing Ryan's review?
