Callaway Rogue Technology Carries Noren to Open de France Success

By: Golfshake Editor | Mon 02 Jul 2018

Callaway Staff Professional Alex Noren secured his 10th victory on the European Tour at the spectacular Le Golf National in Paris to win the HNA Open de France, using the highly regarded technology of the Rogue Driver and Fairway Woods.

Relying on a full bag of Callaway and Odyssey products, including a 9° Rogue Sub Zero Driver, 15° Rogue Fairway Wood, and a Chrome Soft X Golf Ball featuring a graphene-infused Dual SoftFast Core, Alex claimed his second Rolex Series title and a €1,008,578 winner’s cheque.

Putting himself in contention for automatic selection for The Ryder Cup in September, the Swede powered his way through the field from seven shots behind at the beginning of the final round - reminiscent of his BMW PGA Championship victory at Wentworth last year - to win by a single stroke.

His final round saw him birdie two of the notoriously difficult final three holes and the victory means Alex (35) has now won every year on the European Tour for the past four seasons.

He said: “The win feels unbelievable. The Albatros Course is tricky and the first few days were really tough for me, but I played a lot better over the weekend. I felt a lot of pressure playing the course, but hit most of the fairways in the final round, and making a birdie on 17 was key.

The Callaway Rogue Driver has been a strong addition in Alex’s bag since the start of the season. During the Open de France he ranked 2nd in ‘fairways hit’ and the Rogue Sub Zero model was also the #1 driver model on the European Tour.

Alex had worked with Callaway’s fitting experts to fine-tune the front and back weights of his Rogue Driver to adjust launch spin, dialling in greater carry distance and roll for more distance. His Rogue spin characteristics also gave him a tighter dispersion for better accuracy.

Rogue Drivers use enhanced Jailbreak Technology with hourglass-shaped titanium bars that are 25% lighter, stiffening the crown and sole, creating faster ball speeds and generating more distance.
