La Manga Unveils Figures After Busy Summer

By: Golfshake Editor | Wed 01 Nov 2017

Widely revered and famous, La Manga Club in Spain has long been a marquee destination for holidaymakers from across Europe, with the depth of facilities and activities on offer being difficult to surpass at any other major venue. Following an action-packed Summer of Plenty, the resort has unveiled figures that emphasise just how busy a season it has been.

Couples and families from no fewer than 55 different countries headed to the exclusive holiday, sports and leisure destination resort in Murcia, south-east Spain, during the school summer holidays to take full advantage of the award-winning facilities available.

Figures announced by the resort for July and August revealed that nearly 2,000 families stayed at La Manga Club during the busiest period of the year, with some 5,000 children taking part in the array of junior camps on offer.

Over the same period, golfers rented out 4,200 golf buggies while playing La Manga Club’s three golf courses and hit a staggering 237,500 golf balls on the driving range.

Things were just as busy on the tennis front, with the resort’s expert team of coaches giving 1,400 individual lessons to people aged from three to 85, while the five-star Spa La Manga Club performed nearly 1,500 spa treatments.

Recently, the accolades have continued to flood into La Manga. Last month, the Club was named ‘Europe's Leading Luxury Resort & Villas 2017' at the World Travel Awards Europe gala ceremony in the historic Marble Hall of the Russian Museum of Ethnography in St. Petersburg. And just in the past week, it was confirmed that La Manga had commemorated its 45th anniversary with 'Royal Approval' after becoming one of an exclusive group of courses to have received royal status by the Spanish royal household, the 'Casa Real - Royal House'.
