Galvin Green Premium Shirts Dominate UK Golf Market

By: Golfshake Editor | Mon 12 Sep 2016

According to recently released UK industry retail figures, Galvin Green's high performance Ventil8™ cool layer range accounted for 33.1% of golf shirts sold for more than £70 during the first half of this year.

The most popular model in the current Galvin Green range is the MACOY short sleeve shirt, with a RRP of £95. Like every shirt in the exclusive Ventil8™ line, the MACOY (above) has an extremely high level of breathability, as the 100% polyester fabric transports moisture away from the body quickly to keep the golfer cool and dry.

Other Galvin Green shirts to contribute to the brand’s strong recent showing were the MAPPING body-mapped shirt (RRP £100) and the MOORE block-colour shirt (£90) available in seven different colour options and perfect for club cresting. Shirts with prominent Galvin Green branding, like the three-colour MERCURY (£80), and long sleeve MORRIS (£90), have also performed above plan.

“Galvin Green is widely known as the market leader in outerwear, but these figures highlight the overall strength of our multi-layer collection ensuring we remain the largest overall apparel brand in the UK*,” said Greg Pearse, Managing Director in the UK & Ireland. “Both Ventil8™ shirts and trousers have sold well this season and we see the new garments in our Part 2 collection continuing the positive trend across the full range of golf apparel.”

Earlier this month, Galvin Green revealed its Ryder Cup range that included new technology applied to the waterproof garments chosen by Captain Darren Clarke for members of his 2016 European Ryder Cup Team.
