Lagoa
Lovely course just outside Lagos which is one of the better value courses in Portugal. Its in the middle of a nature reserve. Green are superb , have to keep the ball on the fairway. Tight fairways and the ball will be out with a bad driveReviewer Rating

Nice course worth playing but....
First time playing Espiche. Good looking clubhouse, friendly welcome at pro shop. Good practice facilities. Course looked good, but was so hard to keep balls on the fairways, a lot of slopes with punishing rough just off them. A few balls went missing in our 4 ball. Greens were okay, not the best but passable. Would I return, not sure, certainly worth playing the once but be prepared for a frustrating round if slightly wayward off the tee.Reviewer Rating

Lovely course up on the hill
Really fun course, beautiful clubhouse, worth a visit it if happy to travel a little further from Vilamoura (about 50mins). Greens ran very true and good pace too.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 97 Handicap: 21.4)

Not as brutal as some might tell you
Some of my club colleagues had visited Espiche before my visit and told me it was virtually unplayable if you missed the fairway. Admittedly, if your radar is off, you will lose a few balls but you need to be pretty wild to be reloading. I thought it was great. Some tough holes and some holes where you're best to leave the driver in the bag, but that's part of the fun isn't it? Real test of strategy and accuracy and just keeping the ball in play. And the greens were superb. Apparently, they are also growing areas of rough to make the course even more playable over the next few months and that will save a few more balls from hurtling into the areas where they will never be seen again. It's a course which certainly focuses the mind standing on the tees though.Reviewer Rating

A lovely looking but tough track
Great golf course, albeit a very tough one. Course is in a great condition, with the greens beautiful and lively.Lovely looking clubhouse and very friendly staff there. Just wish that the breakfast menu could be a bit more extensive, and similar to the breakfasts that they used to produce.

Long course and quite challenging for a high handicap golfer. Take plenty of balls as any excursion from the fairway results in lost ball. Even balls in the centre of the fairway can run off into the bushes.Reviewer Rating

Straight hitters
If your hitting over 200 yds you need to be straight. Long and slightly wayward may be lost especially as many shots will be blind. I am no John Daly but regularly had to club down from the fees as it was hard to find the ball when you didn't see it land. A buggy is a godsend as it is hilly hence the numerous blind shots. Brilliant course, worth a visit.

one to avoid
I live in the Algarve and played this course last month for the first time. I will not be going back. There is no rough to speak of so your ball bounces along merrily into the undergrowth on most shots. Even drives on or around landing zone markers could not be found, or in a bunker. Greens were fine. Clubhouse good. Friendly staff. But until they sort it out, go somewhere else!Reviewer Rating

I am a high handicapper at 20 but you leave the course wanting to play again.
They are making improvements to the course after listening to the members and guests.
Building banks to stop the ball running off.
Very playable even for me (scored 34 points)
A challenge but surely thats want you need to improve your game.
Club house and food excellent,
play this course as very reasonable.!!
