Sharpley is a fairly new course with lots of potential. They've started by getting the course in very good condition and it feels much more mature than you would expect. The facilities at the course still need to be developed fully. The course offers a bit of everything. Some short straight forward holes, a good few tight and dog leg holes, and a pond or two to add the odd splash of water.
On the plus side the greens are very good, on the down side i don't know what the tee boxes are built on but take a good sized hammer to bang your tees in with. Overall an excellent start for a new course, it's got bags of potential but yet to develop it's own wow factor.

Excellent new course will only get better as trees grow etc, bit pricey though at £17 week days especially as it doesnt have any extra facilities to offer, greens are in excellent condition but the pin possition is sometimes comical adding extra stokes onto your round.

Firendly pay as you play venue with nice driving range and in good nick for the end of the winter. A word of caution about the greens. They are of a good stand but contain some very severe slopes. When we played the pins were at the edges to protect the greens but the result was farcical at times. Some hole location meant you either holed the putt or ended up 6 feet away with nothing in between.

Challenging course, great food

We've played this course a few times now and it weathers well and is an interesting and challenging layout. Greens were in good condition and ran well, fairways were damp in places but very playable. I've seen the course in better nick but it's certainly worth what they charge. Food and drinks in the clubhouse are always lovely and the staff there are really helpful and attentive. Will always be a course we will visit if playing in the area.

Good course

If you like fast, slopey greens with challenging pins then this is the place to be! Not the longest but plenty hazards to make you think about your game ??

At last

Had to cancel previous visit just as covid started so was looking forward to finally playing the course, enjoyed the day as it was fairly sunny. The greens at times were a bit disappointing but it was September so maybe to be expected, the course markers could be better sited and more of them too.

Great north east course

Only a beginner but enjoyed this course. Good fairways and challenging greens. Will be better every year with the trees growing. Definitely go back.
