Last time.
It`s with a sad heart , that we played our last game at Shortwood Lodge, as the course is closing on the 28/6/19. The course as always been in great condition, and it will be sad that this course is closing for BLOODY HOUSES.(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 82 Handicap: 17.6)

Value for money
Really good course with good value for money.We have just come out of the dry spell and these greens were as good as course as "better courses". Very hilly course if you struggle with hills then you will probably be better playing a flatter course but that is what the challenge in on this course. There are many holes which are reachable with the driver from the tee. The only feature which lets this course down is the lack of par 5s. Other than that I look forward to playing here again soon.

Very good course for beginner golfers but I would imagine the more experienced players would prefer somewhere which is more looked after as some of the greens were not that well looked after.

good course for my standard, 16 a killer hole, big big hill with a false crest. 17 nice little drop down par 3 then onto a long drive to beat the water hazard on 18

To be fair it had been very wet and we couldn't play all the holes,the greens were ok as were the fairways but it just could have been better

More challenging than first appears. Nice variety of holes. Very hilly in places,For the standard and quality it is very good value for money., under a ?1 a hole at ?16 on weekends (04/12/16)

Nice pay and play course very golfer friendly with it being very short with no par 5s, quite often hitting ball from above or below feet especially on the back 9 which make it more testing, bunkers could do with some more sand in the greens are suprisingly nice and fairways on most holes in decent condition

Lovely little course just outside Mangotsfield. This course a few things which let it down. The first is a lack of par5 holes which I guess is impossible to rectify it does have a couple of long par 4 holes which will test longer hitters. The other things are easily fixed. It could do with a few ball cleaners near the tee and quality yardage markers. They have the red and yellow discs in the fairways but unless your ball lands on it you need to hunt for them as they are not obvious to see unless you are standing right next to them. I would like to see stake markers next to the fairway at 150/100 yards which can be easily seen. In my opinion this would increase the pace of play.
The course uses it wonderful undulations well and you will play the ball above and below your feet often testing how dynamic your golf game is. The greens were very good condition and very forgiving. Some of the bunkers could do with a little care but generally in good condition. There are multiple par4 holes which are under 320 yards so larger hitters of the ball can hit the green in one shot. However on many of these holes you might be better playing it safe. I would happily play at this course again.

Not too bad at all. Well maintained with decent greens, needs some tlc but very good for a pay and play. Short course but good amount of course management required to get round, not just whack a driver down there (Round played: July 2016 Score: 73 Handicap 6)

Really lovely course, well maintained, parkland & hilly with plenty of trees. Only one par 5 off white tees but lots of good long par 4's and nice testing par 3's. Par 67 off yellow tees, played to 14, 4 below handicap. Loved the course, very pretty and nice views and will defiantly be back.
