I have played the course for meany years now and find it very enjoyable to play
.Over the past mouth the weather has not helped things but i must say the course is looking good and things look like they are moving forward. The rough is much better no more losing balls and the greens are rolling very well
it is defiantly worth a round and its great value for money i only payed £18.50 for a weekend round.

New owners are gradually bring this lovely old course back to life. One of the oldest in Britain (1895) it is a challenging course and very enjoyable now. The fairways are undulating and with mature trees all round they can be quite difficult to play. Greens are coming back well since the winter.

This is a old course which sadly was allowed to run down badly. However, the new owners are slowly bringing it back to its former excellent state. It is a challenging course with undulating fare ways and many mature trees. 6122 yards off the yellows it gives a very pleasant few hours. The clubhouse is small and in need of upgrading but includes light meals, drinks and coffee at the end of your round.

Played there very recently and the course was in pretty good nick. Fairways were well maintained and the greeen, although not excellant, were good.

Minor niggle was the state of the tee-off areas - although not terrible, they weren't great so often didn't have an ideal stance on the tee.

Course is a tricky one, it is very mature with plenty of nature about - anything too far off the fairway and you're on for a golf-ball hunt.

Enjoyable round!

I played here a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed by the improvements. A lot of people were put off a couple of years ago by the thick semi rough fairways but now they are cut acceptably low. The greens are still a bit sorry but also coming back bit by bit. For the money this is now a good round of golf, some challenging holes and punishing rough. If you respect the course you will enjoy the day out. I am taking my company there for a charity golf day, it's getting there, full marks to the new owners.

The oldest golf course in Bedfordshire, which has been scheduled for building development for some years, though reprieved twice now for 5 years each time.

Sadly this means that not enough work is being done to keep the course looking and playing as it should, although it has improved in 2009. Very mature trees make for a difficult round in Autumn, as the fairways get covered in leaves. The bunkers should be GUR as they are not tended enough (some are marked GUR). The greens were in good condition when I played there this year, but as there is no watering system, they can be variable depending on the weather.

I'd say it's worth playing as it's usually very cheap, and there are some interesting holes.

I believe Peter Alliss used to be Pro there some years ago, and certainly Laura Davies used to frequent the place. The Bedforshire Golf Club itself (as it used to be called) bought new land and built another course just a few miles away near Stagsden, but it's not as interesting a layout and a lot more expensive to play.

The course is regenerating well and with fairly brutal rough this can sometimes play quite hard. This is indeed a good course. Service is very friendly and the prices excellent.

THE COURSE HAS BEEN UNDER THREAT FOR SOME YEARS BY A HOUSING DEVELOPMENT WHICH IS WHY THE COURSE HAS NOT BEEN IN GOOD CONDITION FOR A WHILE, HOWEVER, THE NEW MANAGERS ARE REALLY TURNING THINGS AROUND AND LAST WEEK WAS THE BEST I HAVE SEEN THE COURSE FOR SINCE I HAVE BEEN PLAYING THERE. IF THE NEW MANAGERS KEEP IT UP (WHICH JUDGING BY PLAYING THERE FOR SOME TIME) THIS COURSE WILL BE BACK TO ITS FORMER GLORY IN A FLASH. THIS COURSE HAS ALOT OF HISTORY AND IS ABOUT 100 YEARS OLD, IT IS VERY CHALLENGING-IF YOU ARE OFF LINE THEN ITS A CHIP TO THE FAIRWAY AND CARRY ON-A PROPER CHALLANGE.
I STARTED PLAYING AGAIN ABOUT A YEAR AGO AFTER A 15 YEAR BREAK AND AFTER PLAYING OTHERS IN THE COUNTY IN THIS TIME AS WELL I CAN CERTAINLY SAY THE SERVICE AND FRIENDLY WELCOME IS FANTASTIC.
WHAT IT LACKS IN GREEN KEEPING (WHICH IS IMPROVING FAST) IT MORE THAN MAKES UP FOR IN THE CHALLENGE, WARM WELCOME, VALUE FOR MONEY AND VARIETY IN HOLES.
THE 1ST IS A REAL CHALLENGE ,A PROPER GOLF HOLE, AS IS THE 3RD,6TH,8TH,12TH AND 16TH.
THIS COURSE IS A REAL HIDDEN GEM-IF YOU WANT TO GO AND PAY N PLAY ARE JUST TAKING THE GAME UP OR ARE A SCRATCH GOLFER LOOK BEYOND LITTLE THINGS AND SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE.
I WILL BE PLAYING THERE FOR A LONG TIME TO COME.

This course is cheap and cheerful at only £15 for 18 holes on a weekend. Some of the greens are not in great conditio, mainly due to the local wildlife.

The fairways are well maintained at the moment howver sometimes in summer they are allowed to grow a little too much particularly on the opening holes. The main benefit of this course is tee times are normally available because it is not a well known club as far as I can tell.
