Playing at Monte-Rei is a ln all round luxury experience as well as a sensational game of golf. The service is exceptional from the moment you arrive. We had around 5 different people looking after us (taking us to the range with a pyramid of pro v1s, stocking up our carts with water, tees, ice towels, bringing drinks and snacks and ice towels on the 9th hole and cleaning clubs after we finished).
The course is truly remarkable. Each hole seems like a signature hole and gives a gorgeous photo opportunity.
Despite the beauty, it's s very challenging game of golf. You need to be consistently straight off the tee to keep it in play and also consider how you play your tee shot on everyhole in order to give you a good shot into the green and score well.
It's pricey, but worth every penny. A must do for all keen golfers in the Algarve.

One to play at least once in your lifetime.
Portugal's very best - but may be not again in 36 degrees!
Complex is excellent too, as is food.

BEST COURSE IN EUROPE (that I have played). Up there with Dubai courses. Amazing views, scenery, layout and playability. Expensive at about £150 a round but when you walk off and have a pint, get your memento of the day and pick your clean clubs up you feel it was worth every penny and more. Fantastic. Staff were awesome too.

Excellent all round, buggies were loaded with towels and water, ended the round with a bag tag with your name on, and then they cleaned your clubs. Course planners thrown in. Could not fault the service we received.

Simply the best course ever. Amazing facilities, great staff, difficult yet playable course and in unbelievable condition. All set in stunning scenery. 190 euros well spent.

I am 6 hc golfer and have now Played Monte Rei 3 times it's simple magnificent . From the clubhouse hospitality, practice facilities and the course it's simple the best.

Beautiful course! Unfortunately, the front nine had issues (some severe) with several of the greens as a result of chemical misuse. Nonetheless, it is a exceptional and challenging course. I can't wait to play it again when the greens are in their normal beautiful shape.

This course is ranked by some as the best course in the world and based on my experience, I can see why! The course is stunning. We payed the full 190 euro's, however by teaming off before 9.30, we where given complimentary lunch (all 7 courses which where all excellent). The greens where is reasonable condition, however by being the 1st group out they where still a bit wet. I would highly recommend the venue, especially when compared with the west algarve courses that cost the same, the scenery is like nothing you would see anywhere else. The only gripe would be that once you go off the fairways, you are into the protected nature area which is classed as a lateral water hazard so is expensive on dropped shots!

Possibly one of the best courses in Europe. Right handers need to be able to fade the ball accurately and drive the ball over 250yds off the tee.

Having played Monte Rei twice this year and once last year I still rate this as my favourite course in the world. The club house is spectacular and the service from the moment you arrive is first class. The golf course itself is challenging yet playable and always in mint condition. Can't wait to return.

this is how golf should be played, superb facilities, fantastic course designed by jack nicklaus and i was treated as if i was the great man himself, definately red carpet treatment still a lot of work being done, and not cheap, but worh every euro and then some ,if you play a course in portugal make it monte rei
