Review Information

What the club says: The RMGC signature hole is the par 3 Hole 4, known as the Maid's Bedroom. It is not a particularly difficult hole but is certainly one of the most picturesque. The tee shot should be played over the remains of the house in which the club's maids used to live, hence the name. Bunkers guard the green on the left and right, not visible from the tee and a there is row of trees on the left.

Maltese Best

A wonderful 'little' course in the heart of Malta. A few of the holes seem tightly squeezed in to a very tight location and more par 3s than one would normally expect in the Royal Club of Malta. However, a most enjoyable experience in a beautiful location. Greens are superb and fairways don't show the constant heat. A little breeze made this an enjoyable experience although locals complained that it was very windy.....we thought, they only played the links in Ballybunion.

Well maintained course

For the weather conditions, ie very hot (40 deg +) the course is very well maintained and manicured. All the greens played very well and the course is forgiving

being the only course on the island , the 65 euro green fee and 25/30 euro club hire rates will determining factor if you will play the course .

It's the only course on Malta, maybe it is a little overpriced (I had to play on a Sunday). The booking was very easy and quick. I was able to hire some clubs which were clean and perfectly acceptable. The course is the only green part of the island, maybe the fairways could have been cut a little more evenly. The greens were good and consistent. The course is not long, but most holes are tight with plenty of trees to catch a wayward drive. The clubhouse has an upstairs with nice views over the early holes.

I recently played this course and must admit that although at first glance it seemed a bit short at Par 68, it was actually rather challenging and enjoyable. The girls at Front office were very helpful and with a brand new stylish clubhouse, the pint afterwards on the terrace overlooking the course was just as sweet.

Malata's only golf course.....

Very Nice course with some very nice holes (par 3 6th is very nice and quirky). Unfortunately when i played the greens were a bit bare and could do with a little be more watering (im lead to believe that this is a problem in Malta), other than that the course was nice and well maintained.

Club hire looks good, I took my own clubs but the Hire clubs were Cobras and look in good condition.

The Main Facilities are currently going under a renovation but the golf club house was nice and very cheap (3 euros for a nice steak sandwich).

Worth a look.
