The finish on the 18th is slightly underwhelming considering the holes leading up to it. The constant building work going on around some parts of the course as more villas are built can be annoying when on the tee. I was there recently and played Quinta Do Lago North and South more, however I will play here again I'm sure.

the issues is the price, if you book as part of a package it's ok, but a round on off season at 160 EUR and 9 EUR just to rent a trolley is expensive, feels like you're being ripped off - especially as there are plenty of good courses one can play for less

The Royal course if very challenging overall, and has the signature par 3 16th across the cliffs. Don't think of carrying your clubs unless you are fit ad strong. Very enjoyable, good condition and had the best fairways of any we played. Expensive.Course (layout/challlenge)

It was a drizzly grey day and not what one had hoped for on the 1st day of our long weekend in Portugal. Expectations were not dampened though as 20 years or so before I had stood at the base of the cliff at the 16th and said one day I will play that course
The round was great fun greens in good condition, pace of play pretty good too, then to the majestic 16th worth the green fee all on its own. Sadly our tee shots didn't meet the quality of the hole, but will always be remembered fondly.(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 102 Handicap: 20.5)

Great experience here. Well designed very nice playable course. Not too difficult. Greens excellent. Par 3 16th spectacular! Long walks between tees and greens so a (expensive!) buggy worthwhile. Good condition considering the heavy traffic on it.Not cheap but a nice treat.
Only drawbacks for me are no practice net anyway near the clubhouse and you are obliged to play off the yellow tees which does make it pretty short. There are several 300 ish yard par 4s and the 1st is a 400 yard par 5! Understandable to keep pace of play up I suppose.

We had a fantastic round here. Fairways and greens were in fantastic condition and made for a really enjoyable round. Booking in process and picking up buggies was really slick and staff were very friendly and professional.Driving range is limited to 7/8 iron and no chipping facilities were available when we went. Practice greens were again in very good condition.

We played the ocean course, which was beautiful with lots of fantastic scenery, especially the par 3 15th which is played along the beach. It's a very undulating course with some really difficult holes, but a good score is possible if on your game. If your going to the Algarve, then you must give this course a go.
