Golfshake Team ReviewThetford offers a great location for Golf all year round as it soaks up any rain during the wetter months.
The downside to this is that it can get slightly dusty during the high summer as they are unable to use loads of water.

Its a great layout, can play really tough depending on the wind. Also fairly tight in places.

One of the best finishing holes in the area!

Excellent course in the heart of the forest. Great layout with plenty of thought required off the tee.

Playe this course for the first time and what a treat, the tee boxes were excellent along with the greens, very true and quick. a couple of the fairways were a bit bare due to the recent dry spell but overall an excellent course. The length is very tough and if you are not on your "A" game here you will struggle, tree lined throughout and although you cross a road after a couple of holes and then again after a couple more a very tranquil setting with loads of wildlife. I wish I lived closer so I could play it more frequently

Golfshake Team ReviewExcellent facilities with 2 putting greens, a chipping green. 2 warm up nets which for me is the only downside as I do like a hit a few in a range where possible bu you can't have it all.

Strange start with a Par 3, quite long too. But it sets the tone for what will be a long round, especially off the whites.

The course itself is excellent, a really good test for any standard of Golfer. The greens are probably the best I have played on and it's really nice to find proper sand in the bunkers, although I only found one.

The fairways are wide in places, however the tight lined trees on a few holes makes the tee shot tougher. If you do go off the fairways you can expect a difficult time as there is a lot of rough and gorse.

What I liked most about this course was no 2 holes seem the same, it keeps you on your toes from start to finish. If it lacks anything then it's some water as it has none, but again you can't have everything.

If you like wildlife then you'll love this course, animals everywhere.

Course is excellent. Tests your putting to the limit.
Maybe the dress code is somewhat strange.
White socks must be worn by men if wearing shorts (must be above the knee)
Ladies suit yourself.

Superb course, from the challenging par three first to some monster par 4's, in excess of 460 yards. This forest course has no water, but gorse, trees and heather make up for this. Expect a warm welcome in the pro shop and clubhouse, which serves excellent and very cheap food. The course is well drained and therefore excellent in the winter. Green fees are not cheap, but it is a course that is well worth visiting.

A course to suit all standards, although the higher handicappers might want to make sure they have plenty of balls before they tee off!

Very freindly and helpful pro shop, made to feel very welcome in the clubhouse

Well worth a visit

Course layout/challenge Really good layout, and quite a challenge at almost 6700 yards off the yellow tees, and slope rating of 131
Club and Facilities Clubhouse seemed a little on the small side, but had all the facilities we needed. This was a spur of the moment booking for a game of golf on our way home from the coast. There's quite a busy road that has to be crossed as it spllits the course into two groups of holes.

Value for money We paid £40 on a County Card rate, but it is normally £60 otherwise. I would put this at reasonable value.

Pace of play We played after 3.00pm on a Sunday, and the course was very quiet, so we got round in very good time, despite looking for the occasional wayward shot in the trees.

Friendliness and hospitality As we didn’t see any members out on the course, we could only judge from those in the clubhouse before we played, who all seemed quite friendly, and certainly the hospitality from the staff we dealt with was good.

Course conditions Tees, greens and bunkers were immaculate. Fairways left a little to be desired, in that they were quite patchy, and looked a little dry.

Practice facilities We only visited the putting and chipping greens, and did not investigate if there were other practice facilities, either in the way of nets or a range.

Food and drink We did not eat, but those who had played were eating, what looked like very good food. Did not investigate the cost of food.

Would you – Recommend Yes, happily.
Play again Yes, especially as this is very conveniently situated for us, being half way between home and the coast.
