Really Nice

I was invited to play by a friend who is a member at the course, really loved it. Big open fairways, in really good condition, with a good variation of different holes.

I would definitely play it again.

I always enjoy playing at the Oaks. It always seems to have lots of space and is a very fair test. Good, modern clubhouse facilities add to the tidy & well-organised atmosphere that emanates throughout thesite.

Course in very good condition for the time of year. Greens had been spiked probably 2 weeks ago or so, and the back 9 greens especially had a lot of sand on them, but in April that’s almost to be expected anywhere. Fairways very good and the tee off boxes were exceptional. We liked the course, but all of us who played are good drivers of the ball and fairly long – something you have to be here because there are a number of par 5s and holes where you really need distance. The hardest 5 stroke index holes are well worth their ranking and are quite challenging. Number 10 into the wind requires a couple of really big hits to get onto the green and 14 with the severe dog leg right water requires a big second shot too.
There are a good mix of ordinary and interesting holes, generally fairly wide open and a bit of leeway for errant drives. My one issue with this course was lack of marker posts. There were only about 4-5 holes that had a 150 marker. Nothing else at all on most holes! It really felt like you were going in ‘blind’ with distances on a number of occasions, just having to guess how long you had left. Apart from this, it’s difficult to fault the place though. And off the course, the bar/spa facilities are really top quality. Cost just £15 per person which was pretty reasonable. We are certainly interested in coming back at some stage in the summer when course is in full bloom and greens at their best.

Course has held up well through the winter. Not much run on the fairways yet & greens are soft so hold the ball well, even got some backspin. Some greens have subtle breaks or borrows but most are generally flat. My only tip for playing this course is to keep you tee shot in play, most of the holes have deep rough/trees or water that can interfere with your first shot and a chip out the only alternative for your 2nd

Warm welcome from the staff and members. The course was in good condition for the time of year. It is a course you can play and have an enjoyable day. It isn't a testing course but would recommend a course planner. Score 81 Handicap 12.7

First time I have played this course, lush fairways, so distance on drives can play short, greens bit flat, i guess for quick turn around of players, easy walking and some nice holes played around/over water. Was good value for £20.

nice course, flat and wide make it a nice course with not too much trouble for a straight-ish hitter and an easy walk. £20 per round pay and play is very good value.
