What the club says: The Manor House Golf Club course adjoins the magnificent grounds of the luxurious Manor House Hotel and is set in 200 acres of wooded valley and downland. Peter Alliss, who designed the 6500 yard, par 72 championship course with Clive Clark says, "It's hard to imagine a finer setting for an English golf course." The setting, layout and design make each hole memorable and the course is testing yet fair and enjoyable.

Top class course

A championship standard course with great layout and some great holes. Some long walks between tees so a buggy recommended. Quite expensive but worth playing at least once if you get the chance.

Stunning course with some real standout par 3s well worth coming to play but please get a buggy! The walk from the 8th to the 9th is not one you want mid round, very steep!

Excellent

Played recently and the course was in great condition, considering the wet weather we have had recently. Interesting to see improvements going in to the 4th hole - looking forward to playing it next season!

Played the course this afternoon after a load of rain and the course was incredibly firm underfoot. The drainage here is superb! Greens were in great shape - we thoroughly enjoyed the day. Will come back very soon

fabulous course

My favourite course with lots of elevation change and most holes are challenging. You need a buggy as a number of steep climbs to tees.
Great condition and helpful staff . recommend for a special day out although has become expensive

Great course in good condition. Set in a valley with some longish treks between some holes and very up and down so worth getting a buggy. Friendly in proshop and bar. Would play here any time I'm in the area.

Superb

This was the last leg of our tour to the area – crossing the border from Somerset to Wiltshire. Manor House is rated 2 in the county and we could definitely see why. From the point of arrival, to the courteous staff and unbelievably helpful team in the pro shop, this was a memorable day played on a superb course.
The course is relatively new and the design is fantastic, if you like picturesque holes that is. Two magnificent par 3’s (2nd and 17th) some breathtaking views from raised tees (8th and 12th) and a delightful finishing hole. Some of the early holes have an inland links feel about them with the raised contouring between adjacent fairways and although one or two of these holes felt a little similar in style, it didn’t detract from the overall quality of the course.
The course is manicured to high standards and for sure is a pleasure to play. The greens ran true and fairly quick and were typically large with an american feel to them.

One note of caution, the course is designed with buggies in mind. The course itself does have one or two climbs to negotiate, but the bigger issue is with a few of the walks from green to next tee and in all honesty without a buggy for those walks it would have been very demanding and tiring.
If you feel up to the challenge then Manor house is a course worth a visit. We can’t speak highly enough of the service we received from everyone at the club. We couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome.

A superb Golf Course

Whatever your ability this golf course has something for everyone. Do not let its length deceive you, it is very tight in places, and you cannot blast your way around it.

Buggies are a must!

Beautiful and challenging course, extremely hilly.
We didn't opt for buggies as our group normally walk, big mistake. by hole 15-16 our performances were definitely on the slide due to the monstrous climbs and descents. I will be returning to this absolutely stunning course in the near future, Staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful.
