We had never played Stanedge before but what a joy. I play at Sherwood Forest and the quality of the fairways and greens at Stanedge are in a different league. I was amazed I had never heard of the club before prior to my search through GolfNow. My three friends couldn’t stop talking about it all the way round. I understand a female PGA pro took bought the club only five years ago so huge credit to all involved. We will definitely be back.

Mr
I played this course last week, after not playing for over a year. As soon as I got out of my car and started walking towards the clubhouse, the changes were immediate. The first tee had been re-built and extended with beautiful rope and flowers. The driving range was there on my last visit but it looked immaculate. The steps to the clubhouse had be re done and the patio area looked beautiful with all of the wooden and rattan garden furniture.
I was playing on my own so I had arrived in plenty of time. I had a gorgeous clubhouse sandwich before my round that could have fed two people. The gents facilities were first class, I have never seen toilets and facilities like them at a golf club before.
The course itself was well…..WOW! The fairways were like carriers and the shaking of the both the fairways and the rough was unbelievable and I play a lot of high end course with my work.
The greens were the best I have played on all year.
This place is truly a hidden gem and it shouldn’t be hidden! It’s one of the best golf courses I have played on and the yes the clubhouse is small but what they have to offer in terms of decor, the standard of the food and the staff is 10 out of 10. Everyone should know about Stanedge golf club.

Great Peak district golf club
Stanedge is a superbly well maintained local course in between Chesterfield and Matlock, with exceptional views. The course itself is well maintained with very fast running greens, fantastic definition between fairway and rough, with the first cut rough being challenging and the long rough can card destroying with a lost ball almost guaranteed - a proper challenge in keeping the ball in play and straight.Reviewer Rating

Peak district course
Course is on winter mode, winter mats, temp greens and practice green closed - weather conditions make this time of year challenging to play. Roll on summer golf again and the course playing true.Reviewer Rating

Great little Peak district golf club
As a member, play this course a lot, now in full winter mood. Pretty dry considering the rain over the last few months. Temp greens are what they are, some aren't too bad, 3rd, 6th and 8th with the slopes make its impossible to putt on really. Roll on spring/ summer golf again.Reviewer Rating

What a wonderful transformation
Recently visited Stanedge after a 15 year gap when I tried golf the first time.....wow, it's a different place altogether.Fantastic staff, very friendly.
I am not a very experienced golfer, having not played in years and only just returned to playing.I have been going around different courses with my partner recently, trying them out, and this is definitely one worthy of a revisit. I found some of the holes challenging but in great condition. Wonderful views too. Only gripe, a couple of the greens had track marks across them, nothing major, but they can affect your putting. I am not sure why the Greens keepers do this?
To finish on a positive, I really did enjoy my afternoon, and will be going back to try and improve my score.....well done everyone at Stanedge.

Friendly,Great fun. well conditioned.
Thoroughly enjoyed my round today played in glorious sunshine. 10 hole layout but this is an advantage to anyone wishing to play a few holes. The layout offers many loops all accessible to the centrally located area excellently located clubhouse. Food and beverage is simply exceptional with most home made and locally sourced. Even if have no time to golf I will return for the clubhouse offerings. Love to see many non golfers at the venue taking advantage of the excellent foods. Course is interesting layout with some challenging short holes. Greens excellent firm and true.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic course
As a member, i play this course week in week out. The attention to detail is evident to see for all. Even after some rain in August, the pace of the greens are still pretty fast. Members and staff very friendly and helpful.Reviewer Rating

Lovely course
As a member i play Stanedge on a regular basis and the course looking in fabulous conditions, with some pacey greens (which are only getting faster). Fairway definition is looking great, rough a touch long in places. Good challenging course and need to be straight as trouble is always close by..Reviewer Rating
