Fantastic warm reception
Played in August 2020 with few international travelling visitors. What a welcome provided by Andrew the starter. Looked after our group incredibly well. The course was so quiet we had no-one in front or behind. Amazing experience. The course is tough even with limited wind. Deep rough and hundreds of bunkers await. Wonderful experience the place has a great atmosphere. Everything was superb on the day even the weather held off until the last three holes.
Staff and members were helpful for the Society's 25th Anniversary match.

A privilege to play there.
Played 21/3 on what turned out to be a gloriously sunny day. Course was in fantastic condition, some stunning views and brutal rough. The history of the venue, memorabilia on display and warm welcome experienced all made it a day to remember. The members we spoke to and the starter on the first were all welcoming and made the day even better. Expensive, but worth it.Reviewer Rating

Paying for the novelty
Greens and bunkers were outstanding, overall considering it’s anOpen venue it was disappointing tee box’s were neglected. The layout is very flat and not much character to the course , Hillside is a much better course
The clubhouse is stunning and everything you expect with an open venue.
Surprisingly the bar prices are very reasonable.

A fantastic day at a course with lots of history. Everyone we met at the club was extremely friendly and ready to help. The course was fantastic, great condition and a challenge. Very memorable day and another open venue ticked off the list.(Round played: Aug 2017 - Score: 105 Handicap: 18.9)

The course was in superb nick and the weather was benign so I don't think I'll ever play it as easy as that again(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 96 Handicap: 16.9)

Let's keep this simple: PLAY HERE. This is an amazing course and club and unlike some course which have such history, the people are as welcoming as you will find anywhere. Leave enough time to see the club house memorabilia, including Tiger Wood's 2 iron from his 2006 vistory. Just awesome.

One of the best tracks along the lancashire&cheshire coastline. Always great staff and food in the clubhouse and stepping out onto the course is excellent. The greens are always running true and fast. The one big thing it lacks is what they do at other championship Open courses and that's showing visitors the love... I mean this by St Andrews, just the little gift pouch with golfing items in, the experience of a proper starter etc, there missing a very big marketing trick which they need to address.

When talking about Royal Liverpool, it is easy to run out of superlatives as the place is just that good. As you walk the tightly mowed fairways you really do get a feel of the history of the place and its past Open Championships. The greens were spot on and the pot bunkers were everything I imagined before arriving here. Every single member of staff was extremely helpful and I would not hesitate to go back.Reviewer Rating

Played as member's guest so fantastic value for money. Very challenging, as when missing narrow fairways straight into thick rough. Happily only visited two of the impressive bunkers.
