What the club says: The new course is a picturesque, part sloping and part level, 18-hole course that nestles in the heart of Northumberland's Coquet Valley and is within easy walking distance of the historic village of Rothbury.
The course, adjoining Northumberland National Park, benefits from spectacular views of the Coquet Valley with the Cheviot Hills and Cragside in the distance, the nearby Simonside Hills and the village itself whilst the River Coquet meanders along adjacent sides of the course.

Excellent lay out with open front nine and tighter back nine.Overall enjoyable only slightly tainted by slow greens but well worth a visit and great value with county card at £17.50-will certainly play here again.Staff friendly and helpful and good food

Must play!
Haven't played Rothbury for four years, since we've been members at clubs in Newcastle, but it's still one of my favourite courses in the North East. Not overly long or immediately intimidating, it still requires accurate shot placement, and it will bite you if you try to overpower it with Driver everywhere! Just great golf, a fantastic setting, and some of the friendliest staff and members you'll come across anywhere. Golf as it should be!!Reviewer Rating

A nice course with 2 different challenges the front 9 more open fairways with room to bail out if you hit a poor shot the wind is also a factor, the back 9 you need to plot your way round more thinking of where you are going to lay up.

Lovely!
Great golf course. Nice undulating parkland course not too many long tiring hills.Beautifully cut fairways on a lush sunny afternoon stood out.

nice scenery lovely views front nine very hilly greens a bit slow fairways could have done with a bit shorter grass back nine easier walking flatter. coarse has been in better condition on previous visits no food available at end of round this may have been a one off.

Rothbury golf club is very scenic. front nine are hilly and challenging with many blind tee shots The second nine are flatter and easier walking, not a long coarse but deceptive because of the contours, a well managed coarse and enjoyable.

excellent coarse front 9 quite hilly next 9 flatter so easier but a tough test for high handicappers like me coarse well maintained and great views over the coquet well worth a visit.

Super Course, great views.
Played the course today, the last time we were here the course was a 9 hole one, it has now been expanded to 18 holes, so a new layout to contend with. Clearly the new parts of the course need time to mature, but the condition of the fairways was good, and the greens very good (and very difficult to putt on with big breaks). The older parts of the course were in very good condition.Had a very enjoyable round, very good value for money, and the views down the river valley were amazing. Would recommend.
