Mature course in poor condition

Tee boxes were bare, just mud and sand, greens left a lot to be desired, really poor condition in places, very bobbly. Fairways were fine and course is mature with tough rough so wayward golfers beware and take lots of balls with you. Decent club shop and dining facilities but sadly course was not in good nick

Overall very playable. But a lot of the tees and greens were in need of repair and better maintenance. Not many sprinkler systems were in place and going around the course a lot of groundwork?s were taking place. But some very challenging holes but also very playable at the same time. Enjoyed it very much.

This course is a really good layout with some good holes and options on tee boxes. Par 3s are very good, be better if they mixed up the distances a bit as were all short from yellows. You can tell this used to be a very good course but now lacks the investment to keep it in top condition. From a value point of view for ?20 it's a steal. Long walks between tees so get a buggy if you struggle.

Well worth a go

If your in the area, this course is well worth a go.
It is a challenge for all standards of golfers. Some excellent holes that you need to think about, brilliant par 3?s and par 5?s that you can have a ho at.
Fairways are well maintained and run nicely. Greens are some of yhe best around. Rough is high and this is the only down side, not sure it needs to be so high, but all courses seem to be doing this. Professional golfers don't play on courses with such vicious rough that courses seem to be producing these days, not just here, but all courses.
Shame that pub/restaurant was closed, but half way hut was excellent.
Walkways/paths between certain holes were poor and can imagine in poor weather they would be interesting.
Overall an excellent course.

Great course

haven't played Linder for a while, but it's always a pleasure, and was really good value. As ever the par 3's are the stars, all four of them are excellent. Bunkers were a bit hard, but probably due to the heavy rains and then warmer weather baking them slightly. All in all though, a great experience as usual.

Very good

Since lockdown eased this course has improved dramatically. The greens were in poor condition but are now rolling very well. Fairways are lovely and the bunkers are beginning to be a lot more playable than before. A tough test of a course. If you go in the rough the chances of finding your ball are very slim so finding the fairway is a must! Some great holes and views. Just a little more upkeep and this course could be one of the best in the area!

Northumberland gem

Course very challenging. Bunkers poor. Walkways between holes long and some poor.
Greens and fairways fantastic. Rough damaging to your scorecard, probably too damaging.
Unfortunately due to current restrictions bar and food restrictions.
Definitely worth a go.

One of the best

Linden Hall is in my opinion one of the best courses in the North East and I've played a lot of them. I'm a high handicapper (24) but quite often get my best scores ever here. The course itself is in excellent condition and the greens play well. There are some challenging holes but most have plenty of fairway to catch unforgiven shots. The 2 par 3 on the front 9 are absolutely fantastic having to be quite precise in your choice of club and shot. The Par 5s are achievable within 6 shots which is spot on for me still allowing to score points in Stableford and the par 4s allow me to get the odd par score which a real confidence booster. The views can be quite stunning and there's plenty of wildlife to keep you abused whilst walking to your ball. The lads in the pro shop are very friendly and helpful and the new PGA coach Greg is a cracking lad. They have top notch practise facilities also to warm up on before hand. I love this course and come away on a high wether Ive played bad or good.
