Padbrook Golf and country club is a very nice place to play, Very helpful and polite staff who are always willing to lend / share knowledge and advise. I have been a member here for two years and wouldn't join anywhere else. Sure there are a lot of course's around and i have played many of them, But for a good challenge, Friendly staff and value for money you can't really beat it. Do yourselves a favour, Book a round, Chat to Stuart Disney (club Pro) then make your own mind up!! You won't be dissappointed.

absolutly loved this course even with a bit of frost its hard to find fault with it. A good mixture of holes big and small very hilly but that isnt an issue means you can take in the scenery. CANT RECOMMEND ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!

Hilly course, foot golf annoying and loud
. Worth a visit but I would check the course to make sure that the foot golf is not playing.

Excellent course with great facilities and excellent value for money, dedicated chipping and putting area and large driving range for all your warm up needs. The course itself is a recently extended parkland 18 with the front 9 coming back to the clubhouse and many elevated pins and US Pga greens that can make you think to get down for par, great views dont come on flat courses and there are a handful of hilly holes to contend with both uphill and downhill shots to test you, buggies are available and the Pro shop staff are always friendly and helpful

Coarse is good but too long without a buggy. the pro is probably one of the best in Devon. we had just played one outside Teignmouth and found that to be disappointing so this was a welcome challenge.

Nice course, very hilly take a buggy with very long walks between greens and tees. Couldn't get a drink or food at 9.30am before we played. Some great Devon views from course. Noise from M5 apparent but didn't spoil our round

An excellent challenge although if you can hire a buggy then do so. The greens are fantastic and the course offers plenty to think about along the way.
The golf pro is a great chap, currently having some lessons with him and he has vastly improved my game in only one lesson.

One of the few Devon courses that I hadn't visited so with family safely entranced shopping in Exeter, a visit was arranged. First impression was of "work in progress" on the way in with new building still going up, and impression was of a developing site with Hotel and facilities probably taking more predominance than the golf side. Found the pro shop eventually, and couldn't have been made more welcomed, well stocked and helpfull in all aspects.Being advised to take a buggy by others, it was indeed a fair old trek to the first tee well past the driving range. The 1st is quite a testing 360 yard par 4 and with OOB and hedges either side, and sends a shiver down the spine thinking to keep it straight. The drive has also to be long enough to get sight of the green hard left and up a steep hill, with a large bunker also protecting. A long walk to the 2nd tee sums up some of this course, a mixture of new holes and the original 9. The 2nd is another testing dog leg left and position off the tee is paramount, but be aware of the pond if the corner is cut!. 3 is just a long bang par 4 with an oob inpenitable hedge on the left (I found it dammit!) whilst 4 is the first of a few pretty steep climbs. Only 300 yards but playing much more due to the height difference and with one of the slipperyest sloping greens in Christendom! - too hard from the back and back off down the fairway you go. An uphill par 3 thence to the 6th, a huge downhill par 5 to another slippery green. These three holes are obviously some of the newer holes and the whole area (not the fairways) are a little tatty. 7 needs a bit of thought with a stream crossing horizontally whilst the 8th is one of the original 9 and is a tough steep uphill sloping dog leg right - good drive imperative!. 9 goes back towards the clubhouse before a couple of steep climbs, the first the 10th being a dinky but steep uphill par 3 then up a mountain path to the 11th tee, where you are then faced with another tough climb. This hole strangely is a par 5 off whites whilst a a 4 off yellows, uphill and into prevailing wind, seems strange - why not make it a par 5 off yellows, too tough as a par 4. When the top is reached, a delightfull view over the rolling Devon countryside and down to the green. 12 is a long drop hole par 3, whilst another fair old jaunt takes you to 4 more new holes, 13,14, 15 and 16, all being fairly unmemoriable, and still "very new" despite being open 4 years. Two nice original par 4s form the last two holes. Overall, Padbrook Park is a pleasant course, but the difference between the older and newer holes is quite marked indeed and in truth, I think a few more years are needed to get the course to the quality that is being advertised now. However, enjoyable, pleasant, warmly welcomed, and efficient, just not up to scratch yet. Greens Fair, fairways good, Rough - tatty on newer holes, tees, old good, newer ones pretty awfull, but that I suspect is due to the orrid weather this last year or so.

The friendliest pro, shop staff, bar staff and members that I have met anywhere. There is plenty of interest and variety on the course (once you find the first tee) which offers a fair test of golf for all abilities. Lots of challenging slopes and borrows on the greens. The only improvement would have been to move the driving range and practice area to the current first tee and instead start the first on the current chipping green with the fairway going through the current driving range.

Interesting course and although greens were very slow at least they were true. Very hilly course so need to be fairly fit to walk around. Enjoyable round overall.

What was once a perfectly adequate and playable 9 hole course was "enlarged" into a very long, hilly and poor 18 holer where even after 6 years, the new holes and fairways were awfull. It seems little money was spent on the new layout and without a buggy, it was a long and arduous 18 holes, and was destined to fail, which it now has, for it is closing for ever on March 31st 2017. Facilities have been closing over the past year or so, and it is such an afront to all who put so much hard work into the course in the first place, just to see it ripped apart by newer owners that appear to be just cash orientated
