What the club says: Each hole unique and there are an abundance of cunningly placed hazards laid out to maximise the challenge you will face.
The club first opened for business in 1910 and now has a significant and friendly membership that rises year on year. It benefits further from fine picturesque views of the surrounding countryside. A really wonderful place to enjoy some golf.

Value for Money
Good course for beginners like myself. Wide fairways and rough isn't too bad. Greens are quite compact, but well looked after. Does get affected by heavy rain, with holes 15-17 being closed on 2 of my rounds played here. Staff in shop explain what holes to repeat for the full 18 holes.Reviewer Rating

Course in reasonable condition especially after heavy rain the previous day. Hole directions signage was not good and one or two players missed holes. Food and clubhouse staff were excellent.Reviewer Rating

Unfortunately the tee blocks are really poor. 18th tee block is on a mound, meaning you tee off on a slope. The course is open and forgiving and quite nice up until the 15th of which we got lost as it was not signposted where the next tee was. 15th, 16th and 18th are horrible holes which are tough and the polar opposite to the first 14. Feels like a different course once you get lost in the woods. Highlight of the day was the tee block marked on a piece of paper saying "yello". Poor form Bulwell Hall.Reviewer Rating

Enjoyable round of golf
The course layout is very good with lots of mature trees separating each fairway. The fairways are quite generous. The greens ran true but were on the hard side. The bunkers need improving. Holes 15,16 and 17, on the other side of the entrance road are now a bit quirky! Overall very enjoyableReviewer Rating

Not great
Course in quite poor condition. Fairways are pretty much the same length of grass as the rough next to it. Greens going bald in places. I appreciate the course is surrounded by public pathways but as I went to tee off on the 15th a local youth was sat on the floor with a bike and some form of alcohol right in the middle of the fairway and refused to move.Reviewer Rating

4 of us travelled from Somerset to play the course over the bank holiday weekend. We’d booked to play 4 rounds with buggies.Staying locally in a premier inn.
The level of service and friendliness from everyone we met on this weekend is hard to explain.
From people working in the club to locals playing golf or just having a drink was unbelievable. It really was like being with people you’d known for years.
We decided to have breakfast there on the Saturday morning and it was delicious, a real upgrade from cold hotel buffet stuff,
A full English with loads on the plate served up by people who want to provide a treat for you.
As for the course itself, I don’t think you’d find anywhere else in the country that provides the quality of course for the cheap prices. £15 peak times, £5 later in the afternoon.
And as time goes by it will only get better aswell, many more upgrades are planned. And to think this was council owned up until january where they’d run it into the ground and we’re going to close it. A disgrace really.
A massive thankyou to everyone we met that works there, you made our weekend a joy and we’ll be making the long trip back to you next year hopefully.
Anyone reading previous reviews from when the council owned it, please disregard them, they are no longer valid, and give a very false impression of current conditions.
Thanks again bulwell

Nice open course
Nice course, very open fairways Good value. Downside would be a couple of greens a bit patchy and 15th fairway recovering from drainage works but still playable. For the price a nice course and very quiet in the week. Nice cafe outside the clubhouse too.Reviewer Rating
