What the club says: As you play these outstanding layouts, you soon understand why the course has a hard-won reputation for well-conditioned tees, greens and fairways. Golfers are offered a wide choice of challenges. Contoured fairways and well placed, meticulous greens. From the higher part of the course, some 850 feet above sea level, a colourful panorama opens out. To the North are the Halkyn Plateau and Dee Estuary with Wirral and Merseyside beyond. Eastward the Cheshire Plain extends into the blue distance. The Clwydian Hills culminate in the familiar landmark of Moel Fammau.
The testing, undulating course, par 67, measures 5594 yards from the white tees and has a Standard Scratch Rating of 67. The LGU length is 5109 yards with a Standard Scratch Rating of 70.

A very challenging course with a number of blind or obscure holes.
Very hilly, but walkable. You don't really need a buggy.
Greens are very tight, which just adds to the overall challenge.
Nice clubhouse but menu a bit limited.
Overall, a great day out, particularly if you get the weather.
We'll certainly be visiting again.

Good society venue
Played following very wet weather so was muddy in places but playable.Staff and members friendly , food very good . Will visit again after drier weather ????

not played here for a number of years and we have certainly missed a gem this course was in fantastic condition throughout, there are a couple of blind shots to the green so need to play it a bit more often to benefit your game and a buggy comes in handy but really enjoyed the day and will return again a lot sooner, if your in the area give it a go

A great golf venue
We were a group of 20 women playing in our Lady Captain’s Away Day. Most had never played the course before. All found it challenging but enjoyable and many keen to play again. The course is in excellent condition. The staff were welcoming, helpful and efficient. Food was very good. Members very friendly. All in all a great venue for a day’s golf and worth the journey.Reviewer Rating

Always listen to the locals
Played a society match here.. well worth the visit, no one had a bad word to say.Staffing the clubhouse were good. Members very friendly. There advice was ? have you played here before? no. ?Well you might want a biggie?. Of course we ignored them and set off. Easy ish start tight fairways, well looked after. Good greens.
But then as you progress it becomes obvious why you might need a buggy.
There are a few lava tion changes, that make for good golf, in fact very good golf. But it takes it out off your legs.
Cracking par threes are supported by clever par fours and good par fives.
Well worth a visit. Hopefully we will be back.

Challenging course
Lovely course with a good layout. The hills make the course challenging. A few blind shots so some course knowledge is helpful.(Round played: Apr 2018 - Score: 94 Handicap: 18.3)

Not bad

I'll gladly add to the glowing reviews on here. There was only one temporary green, but the course was in otherwise excellent condition for a cold March day. 6 par 3s ans 2 blind par 5's make for a unique set up. Don;t let the scorecard fool you into thinking this will be a walk over. The course is so hilly (a bit like Reddish Vale, Houghwood and Silverdale) that some holes play one or two clubs less, but some of the 300 yard holes found me hitting a 3 wood, 8/9 iron second. Tight driving holes and fast slopy greens make you think and plot your way round Good deal on membership at the moment I was advised by Ben in the pro shop - too bad I live an hour away! Will definately be back
