The staff were excellent help and good company and clubhouse was good too, had bite to eat food fantastic.
The course well this was disappoining the tee boxes not cut and very untidy, the fairways were bumpy bare patches, tufts of grass and overgrown with daisys not very good. The greens some were ok and others were patchy and bumpy.
It's a shame as the course was very interesting and with some TLC would be a great golf club.

Course looks neglected. less emphasis on Eco friendly more on quality of golf course. That after all is what we are paying for. Could be so much better

Fairways and Tee's in poor condition, rough unplayable due to ridges. Fairways rutted and rock hard even now in April. Greens in fair condition though some a heavily marked.

web site advertises twilight after 4pm but we were charged full price ! not a good start !! the first few holes have had the fairways scarified and the grass is very thin. greens are very samey,flat and round. clubhouse is very friendly and a good menu and bar. they have changed the layout of the course which means you play the three par 5`s in 4 holes ? silly idea. old layout was much better. overall an average golf course with a very good club house. a bit on the pricey side for what you get

Fairways pretty poor, greens were OK but for £6.75 a round an absolute bargain. Course design is OK with the front 9 better than the back IMO.
Nice club house and very quiet on the course.
Would be great for beginners to test their game.

I played this course on 10.10.2013 and was pleasantly surprised by how well the greens have bounced back from the problems over the summer. One of the main reasons I play this course is because you always play off proper tees and onto propoer greens all year round and despite a lot of rain recently the course was playing well. The cracking course lay out is in my view the best in the area.

I had heard a few rumours that new Malton were having problems with the course. Not one to take someone else's word for it decided to give it a go! Very pleased I did, challenging course in beautiful surroundings and very good value for money. Don't be a sheep go on have a game an make your own mind up , you'll be pleased you did !

Played there in the rain last Tuesday for the first time in a while, pleasantly surprised to find the conditions on the course greatly improved especially the greens . Don't write this course off if you came earlier in the year it's well worth a return visit !

This is a relatively flat course that is well drained. It had a few problems in the summer but has turned the corner now and is a joy to play. Everyone is very friendly there. All in all good value for money.

Great value winter course. Well drained and playing nicely given the amount of rain of late. Greens have recovered nicely from some problems earlier in the year. Very welcoming to the visitor, lots of OPEN comps/events to play in, ideal for the roaming golfer. Some fantastic offers for Group/society golf this winter.

Unfortunately, the \"greens"\ did suffer from many daily and devistating attacks from Rooks throughout much of the spring and summer this year, which was further compounded by a prolonged irrigation pump failure, at a crucial time when the greenkeepers were attemting to repair and re-seed the Rook damaged \"greens\".\Hence, some further damage was done to them, as a result of lack of watering adequately during a fairly long dry period in June and July.\Following, almost four years of a mis-guided \"fully organic\" approach to course management, the \"leather jacket\" and \"weed\" populations had reached almost epedemic proportions.\However, under a recent new management regime and a selective return to using chemicals, where necessary, we have now sucessfully almost eradicated the \"leather jacket\" problem, with just one spraying of the \"greens\", so far.\And, the damage caused by the Rooks eating their \"grubs\", has subsequently been repaired, with the \"greens\" rapidly returning to an acceptable and playable quality. \The \" greens\" are now improving daily, as is the whole course, and we are confident we will not have this same problem in the future or with the irrigation. \Carl Weininger {Director}
