What the club says: Heritage Course
A classic Jack Nicklaus Signatureourse, which forces you to consider every shot. Dramatic tee shots and daunting approaches make this course both memorable and challenging. Recently host to The European Open and maintained to the very best standards
Home of the 2014 Volvo World Match Championship, this course is undoubtedly one of the finest downland courses in Europe. Fast, undulating fairways allow you to chase the ball into position. The course is punctuated with exciting risk and reward tee shots over water that really get the heart pumping. The International recently played host to Regional Open Qualifying and Stage 1 of European Tour Qualifying School.

Golf Course Reviews for London Golf Club
Looks on the face of it to be a fabulous day out, for non-members.
However, right from the off this was a real disappointment.
The security guard on the gate was excellent (At least a mile's drive through the courses to the club house) and made us feel like this was the day we were going to pay out £300 for between the two of us.
He told us we should head next to the bag drop where we would be met and our equipment taken from us. No one there. Barely any staff anywhere except a couple of badly trained boys who we had to keep prompting to find information out. They seemed to treat the members better. It appeared that they didn't think much to women. As I was playing with one I got no service either.
Was looking forward to the driving range but that was closed all day (despite one of the boys telling us it was closed on Mondays. (It wasn't Monday). This should be advertised prior and really, some moneys returned.
It took over 5,5 hrs for the round (Yes!) and no one was found as a starter or attempting to improve the pace of play. There were grounds keepers but 80% were happy not to switch off machinery, wander round tees on the phone (Yes: for over £100 a round!) while you are trying to play.
It is one of the most beautiful courses Ive ever played, and Ive played around the world. But with no trained staff treating you well it's not worth just going to any of the other good clubs in Sussex, Surrey, Kent or Essex and pay a quarter to half the fees and be treated well.

Very poor service, attention to detail. Focussed on their members.
Not serviced like a premium club (over £100 a round) should be.
Seemed to be an inherent misogyny in the golf club, despite there being a number of women playing on the course that day.

Expectations were high as we arrived at the gate and were told to hand our clubs to the caddies and proceed to parking. No caddies around and after hunting someone finally came out to take them. We had arrived a little early to take advantage of the practice facilities and look around the golf shop. The golf shop is very limited and seems to have completely forgotten that golfers can also be female. The practice range and chipping area were also closed ...because 'they cut the grass on a Monday' ...although we were playing on Tuesday. No mention at the time of booking or discount due to reduced facilities. No starter on the first pin and despite being told there were no earlier times available nobody arrived to tee off. Even teeing off at our allotted time we quickly caught up with the people in front who in turn had caught the 4 ball in front of them. The 8th hole had 8 people on a green at the same time plus a grounds man who was applying a treatment of some type. Same grounds man was joined by another who continued chatting and refilling the machine as we teed off. Nobody monitoring pace of play. Overall the round took nearly 5.5 hours. The course is beautiful but general lack of friendliness and consideration by the staff mean we wouldn't recommend.

Course was in excellent condition, as always, and probably the best and truest greens I've played. Very friendly clubhouse and staff

Played the International Course today. The course is in superb condition given the dreadful weather we have had. The greens are good too.
(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 96 Handicap: 23.1)
Played the London Club on one of their "Prime Days". Clubhouse and all the practice facilities are top notch. With the exception of the strangely shaggy second green, the putting surfaces on The International course were excellent for this time of year. Carries over water will test your distance control. Very nice halfway house too.

Excellent set up at The London Club. The International is a real test of golf, particularly in the conditions we had (rain and strong wind!). Some cracking par 3's on which you really need to commit to the shot to carry the water. Some interesting par 5's as well. Great club house and excellent welcome from the staff.

This review is unbiased from a non club member who plays about 50 rounds a year and numerous courses.
This club has it all, the facilities are second to none and I would say if money was no object this would be the club I would join in the south east of England. It has 2 championship courses and every aspect of the courses are designed to test the better player. The greens were immaculate and firm but very receptive to a well struck shot. The fairways were also very good. And tee boxes were the best I have ever seen.
The only drawback is price. You cannot get on these courses for less than £80 unless you know a member. Yes the course is lovely but I just don’t believe any course (except some really prestigious historic courses) deserve that kind of money, that said it keeps away the unwanted types of golfers not repairing pitch marks and divots etc. The biggest drawback which I am surprised to be saying is the course didn’t drain that well as there was a lot of standing water and having played other local courses this week i can honestly say it lost in this department compared to clubs asking a quarter of the green fee price. Well worth the effort to play both courses once in your golfing time but only if you can get it cheap enough!

What a lovely day out. from Staff to members, a great venue and great value for money. Can not wait to play again.

The staff could not have been more helpful, with doubts about whether the course would open they were very helpful. The course was in good condition, the staff were excellent.
