What The Club Says
The oldest club in West Sussex, and also the only links course in the area. The course offers a true test of ability, and with excellent drainage, remains playable all year round. A great course that is very well kept and is a joy to play.

Genuine Links Golf in Outstanding Winter Condition
As a scratch golfer who's played over 60 courses in 2025, I can confidently say Littlehampton ranks in my top 3 of the year. The reviewer Paul W claiming it is "Not a links course" and to "never see the sea once" is baffling. There are sea views from multiple points on the course, plus stunning vistas across to the South Downs. As for "very flat”, this is authentic links golf that's been there since 1889, not parkland. The undulating terrain, strategic bunkering, and exposed conditions that change the course daily depending on wind are exactly what defines quality links golf. The greens were exceptional, fast, true, and running at a pace that rewards proper putting technique. Most impressive was the course's year-round playability when other courses regionally are muddy and waterlogged. Credit to outstanding greenkeeping team. The "patchy fairways after dry summer" mentioned in other reviews were certainly not evident during my December 2025 visit, conditions were excellent throughout, firm and running as proper links should be.
The clubhouse experience matched the quality on the course, friendly, welcoming staff and good food made for an excellent post-round experience. At approximately 250 links courses worldwide, and with Littlehampton recently recognized by Golf World magazine as having potential for GB&I Top 100 status, this represents genuine links golf. The course demands accuracy, strategic thinking, and proper shot-making. Exactly what links golf should test. Absolutely would return and highly recommend to any serious golfer seeking authentic links experience with excellent hospitality.

Not a links course
Never saw the sea once in the whole round. A very flat, open course behind a massive bank that blocks out any sight of the sea. Fairly featureless tbh. Greens were fast, course fairways very patchy after the dry summer. At £70 - expensive. Won't be backReviewer Rating

great course
Wonderful links in an unexpected location. Every hole has a good level of interest and the greens and bunkers are excellent. We played on a warm sunny day with no wind but I bet it shows its teeth when the wind is blowing. Play off the whites if you can.....every hole is better and more interesting. Its not a long course but the design means you have to think your way round. No duff holes and you have to keep it on the fairway, if you find the rough or bunkers its at least a shot penalty. We will definitly be back. The ladies in the clubhouse were very friendly but I think the bloke in the pro shop needs a lesson in customer service. For £65 a round I'd expect at least a hello and some basic level of conversation, he looked like he didn't want to be there and showed no interest in welcoming us. I understand we all have our off days but if you choose to be a head pro I'm afraid you have to deal with the general public. The other small niggle was some of the fairways were a bit rough. I hit a few down the middle and found my ball on plenty of uneven turf.Reviewer Rating

Excellent links course...
Played this last week on a twighlight green fee for 35 and must say it was exceptional value for money. The course is very good with the front nine challenging into the prevailing wind and the back nine very well laid out. Greens were superb true and fast, like most links courses some of the rough is brutal, so you need your a game. I've been lucky to play most of the links courses in the South and whilst St George's is naturally on another level, Littlehampton certainly gives the others a run for their money and on that green fee is absolutely superb value. Highly recommended.if you can tye in a visit to Hayling Island it's a great few days golf.Reviewer Rating
