What the club says: The oldest club in West Sussex, and also the only links course in the area. The course offers a true test of ability, and with excellent drainage, remains playable all year round. A great course that is very well kept and is a joy to play.

My first time at Littlehampton and was very impressed by the club. As part of a society we were welcomed and well looked aftermath before and after our rounds. Course played well and had some 'interesting' challenges not least of which are the bunkers, loads of them and some are blooming deep! Experienced four seasons of weather in the day we played from bright sunlight to driving rain and high winds. Really good place to play golf.

great course

Wonderful links in an unexpected location. Every hole has a good level of interest and the greens and bunkers are excellent. We played on a warm sunny day with no wind but I bet it shows its teeth when the wind is blowing. Play off the whites if you can.....every hole is better and more interesting. Its not a long course but the design means you have to think your way round. No duff holes and you have to keep it on the fairway, if you find the rough or bunkers its at least a shot penalty. We will definitly be back. The ladies in the clubhouse were very friendly but I think the bloke in the pro shop needs a lesson in customer service. For £65 a round I'd expect at least a hello and some basic level of conversation, he looked like he didn't want to be there and showed no interest in welcoming us. I understand we all have our off days but if you choose to be a head pro I'm afraid you have to deal with the general public. The other small niggle was some of the fairways were a bit rough. I hit a few down the middle and found my ball on plenty of uneven turf.

Excellent links course...

Played this last week on a twighlight green fee for 35 and must say it was exceptional value for money. The course is very good with the front nine challenging into the prevailing wind and the back nine very well laid out. Greens were superb true and fast, like most links courses some of the rough is brutal, so you need your a game. I've been lucky to play most of the links courses in the South and whilst St George's is naturally on another level, Littlehampton certainly gives the others a run for their money and on that green fee is absolutely superb value. Highly recommended.if you can tye in a visit to Hayling Island it's a great few days golf.

Links course in West Sussex

Great links challenge in West Sussex. Very tough, especially with a wind off the sea. Good facilities, food and bar. Expensive visitor, watch for a promotion or cheaper afternoon round. Greens excellent, fairways a bit less.

Pleasant

Good links layout, friendly staff and good food. Rough at waist height next to fairway slowed play down dramatically. Greens were poor when we played. But enjoyed the links experience, would like to go back when in better condition

First time round here. Great course though tough to visualise some of the tee shots if you've not been before, especially on the front 9. Back 9 is a little more straight in front of you. Need to be straight as if you go off line the rough is punishing and you are likely to lose a ball. Course was in good condition barring a couple of dryish fairways mid round. Greens were decent but a little slower than expected. Had a bit of wind when playing which added to the experience and challenge. Green fee of £45 was decent value. Very friendly in the clubhouse and pro shop and nice food for lunch. Would like to come back in future.

Great Views

Based right next to the shore with lovely dunes. The greens were well looked after and superb green. Rough was really harsh and many balls lost in the grass

Always a test

Course in great condition.
Always a challenging course, if you hit your shot well it's great, if you go wrong then you are in trouble
Every hole is numbered well but some signage to the next hole would be helpful.
I clashed with a member who seemed to have a problem with me asking him which way the next hole was. Hardly unreasonable is it? Manager was great and apologised on his behalf.
