Disappointed

Went to play here New Year?s Day and have to save having enjoyed playing here recently I was left disappointed on this visit.
The course was only wet in a couple of spots so couldn't understand why it looked like the fairways hadn't been touched in weeks.

Very nice day for golf, we were charged a lot of money to play here, we felt ripped off. The pro was telling us how he has been forced out which made us feel bad. Bunkers on the course GUR due to work and no food available. Sort of ripped off will not be coming back

An 18 hole round set me back around £40, which for me is around the right price for a good course. Unfortunately... this is not one. On approach to the Club, the course looks in fantastic condition and leaves me eager to get onto the 1st tee. The staff in the Pro shop are friendly and the practice green in fantastic condition considering it is Winter. From the 1st tee everything went downhill for me. The fairways from holes 2-12 are in very poor condition. Most looking fairly bare and very poor quality. This could be forgiven in small areas, but this was for 25% of the first hole, then high percentages of the rest of the holes through to 12. I can only assume it is something to do with being near the Seafront as the further you got from the Seafront, the better the fairways became. The rough is very well kept and challenging which was a plus, as were the greens which maintained a good putting surface despite being winter conditions and the recent poor weather. Having only played it yesterday, it is disappointing also that there is not a single stand out hole that I can remember, with all holes feeling very similar. Membership is currently over £1000 for a male adult, but I can honestly say that I would not play this course again, even if I were to be given lifetime membership for free. After Hole 3, I contemplated leaving the course, only to be persuaded to stay on by my friend as we had each paid £38 for this 'Privilege'. Next time I will either stick to Hill Barn in worthing which is currently very well kept and playing well, or go to Rustington Golf Centre, which despite being a 2 x Varied 9 rather than Full 18, is a much more enjoyable course to play, with significantly more interesting features than that of Littlehampton Golf Club. Overall I feel let down as this course is not as the website would ahve you believe.

Links course in West Sussex

Great links challenge in West Sussex. Very tough, especially with a wind off the sea. Good facilities, food and bar. Expensive visitor, watch for a promotion or cheaper afternoon round. Greens excellent, fairways a bit less.

Pleasant

Good links layout, friendly staff and good food. Rough at waist height next to fairway slowed play down dramatically. Greens were poor when we played. But enjoyed the links experience, would like to go back when in better condition

Great Views

Based right next to the shore with lovely dunes. The greens were well looked after and superb green. Rough was really harsh and many balls lost in the grass

Could be great after refurb

This is a good course as it stands, great bunkering. Some refurb is taking place on the course which will be great when finished. The green fee is a bit pricey for what is is at the moment. Rough is brutal and swallows balls id you stray offline, goos greens.

Links-ish style course. Right on the coast but disappointingly not many views out to see. Not as foreboding as the club website would have you believe. A good knock-around; would return.

The course is set right on the coastline with many elevated tees offering great views out to see, at times it feels like you could be playing one of the great links in the UK!

Overall this is a nicely looked after track that is a tough, tough challenge in blustery conditions.

My first time at Littlehampton and was very impressed by the club. As part of a society we were welcomed and well looked aftermath before and after our rounds. Course played well and had some 'interesting' challenges not least of which are the bunkers, loads of them and some are blooming deep! Experienced four seasons of weather in the day we played from bright sunlight to driving rain and high winds. Really good place to play golf.
