What the club says: The moment you step onto Kings Acre it’s clear that you are about to play a very fine golf course. Lovingly owned and developed by the local King family over two generations, ours is a beautiful parkland course in magnificent countryside. It is the vision of top Scottish designer Graham Webster and as you make your way around its wonderful 18 holes you’ll see how he has made clever use of the land’s natural contours. Strategically placed water hazards and over 50 bunkers lead you to large, undulating championship quality greens.

Underfoot, the natural sandy-based soil guarantees excellent playability all year round.

Created for players of every standard it is as popular with European Tour pros as it is with occasional golfers.

Kings Acre’s is an inspiring setting where anyone can enjoy a superbly stimulating and challenging round of golf.

Testing Parkland Challenge

A well designed course layout offers some respectable golfing challenges for all standards of player. Friendly, open and relaxed feel to the place, along with excellent practice facilities make this a good home for your golf.

Promising Course

Clubs rarely have the full package, yet Kings Acre looks to be heading in the right direction. A top driving range and putting green are just the start and the clubhouse has a warm feel inside. The course gives a range of challenges but principally due to thick forest from which the layout has been built straight shots are essential.....these are thick woods and a stray shot will likely mean a lost ball. That said there are fun elements with the 15th Tee launching high through the top reaches of Redwoods and a 17th bending right around a small hill. Worth a visit.

great course not easy by a long shot

Great course the second cut was like Velcro, today it was quite windy which affected some shots, made club choice difficult, but enjoyable none the less.

An undemanding course on the outskirts of Edinburgh, easily reached from the bypass, Kings Acre isn't as tough as it might be with wide fairways allowing you to keep the ball in play and shoot for the greens. It's of a length where you'd expect to reach most greens in regulation The par 5s are definite birdie opportunities. The layout of two nines is varied enough to keep you interested although the "down and round holes" 14 to 17 are a bit quirky. 18 is the best driving challenge, with a 200 yard carry to pass the pond on the left and bunkering down the right for the hydrophobics. Decent clubhouse and food and a nice spot to take lunch on a sunny day.

Really enjoyed it

This course is fun. It has a great mix of holes, 5 Par 3s and 4 Par 5s. No two holes on the course are the same. Good condition and it was very quiet so we flew round.

Very good value for money

The facility is impressive and we received a warm welcome.

Excellent course. Very attractive course lined with pine and spruce; interesting and well kept greens. Hole 15 is, although difficult, very interesting. If it has heavily rained, I would check before playing as some tee boxes/areas felt they could be boggy if there was heavy rain.
