What the club says: With scenic views of the Staffordshire Moorlands in the distance, Keele Golf Centre provides a classic test of golf. This undulating course, carved through the mature trees which once formed part of the old Keele Hall Park measures some 6396 yards, par 72 from the back tees. The greens are now considered as some of the best in the county. The adjacent 30 bay driving range provides the ideal practice facility to hone your swing before your round.

5 Five of us played last month. This is the worst course I have ever played. Although we were only charged £7 each, it was £7 too much.
The fairways, sorry, fields were about eight inches long which meant we lost about a dozen balls between us!!
They should not be taking money from anybody. It should be closed until substantial work is carried out.

5 An interesting challenge in North staffordshire. The course is currently under the ownership of the local council and is suffering some TLC. The clubhouse has potential and is run by a single person who was polite and courteous. the round cost £17.50 on a Saturday and there are a few buggies available. The course has the potential to be a fantastic challenge but as previously stated lacking TLC including tee area's not cut or mown, some of the greens have bare patches and there is not a true run. The bunkers are in disrepair but are playable with care. The fairways are well looked after and there are some challenging holes including the par 3 16th, a downhill 180 yards guarded by bunkers with no run off. With careful investment this course could be revamped to its former glory.

5 A very challenging well laid out course. However, poor management has left scarred greens, very thick rough and un-pruned trees so be prepared to lose balls. is starting to head in right direction again after being taken over. Fairly cheap

5 I played at Keele with my Son in law, today 2nd June 2013, having booked online. At one time I visited the course regularly but it had some time since my last visit and I will not be returning. Keele golf course is in administration, a number of the ground staff have lost their jobs and the condition of the course has suffered accordingly. Grass cuttings had not been collected from the fairways and the rough was both unfair and unplayable. The greens were the worst I have ever seen, they were covered in weeds and very uneven. Bunkers had not been maintained and some had weeds growing in them. In my opinion he course should be closed, until a buyer is found that is willing to but in the necessary investment, in order to return the course to an acceptable standard.

5 Only worth playing if it has been dry for about a week. As others have commented, the fairways are usually very wet, unfortunately so are some of the greens, which are ok in the summer. Some holes are very nice, but often ruined by temporary greens. I will continue to play the course, but only because I live close by.

5 A tight course that does not leave much margin for error. Most fairways lined with trees but makes a golfer concentrate on their game and hit the fairway which is good.

5 Fairways OK, Greens are fair and need TLC, Rough too long not been cut enough. This is an attractive course but is suffering from lack of maintenance.
