What The Club Says

IGC was established in 1927 and has, since that time, proven to be one of the most attractive and challenging tests of golf in the county of Sussex. The golf course itself, has changed little since its inception and measures over 6,300 yards from the back tees. No matter if you are playing from the whites, yellow or red tees the design of the course ensures that is has stood the test of time and offers a good challenge to all levels of ability.

Played Ifield a few times. After the very dry summer I thought the course has faired well. Main gripe is that the bunkers are in very poor condition, but apart from that it's in reasonable nick. If you have not played it then do so whilst it's still open as there?s a threat of closure due to housing development in the not too distant future.

Second time round here. Lovely course in good condition noting current dry spell. Only slight issue was some of the bunkers were a little bare in terms of sand but otherwise excellent. Greens were true and course in general was well looked after. Nice variety amongst the 18, back 9 especially. Had food afterwards as on a society day and that was also very nice. Well worth a visit and you should do so just in case it gets built on in a couple of years as appears to be the current plan which would be a crying shame.

Nice and Friendly

Hot weather recently and the course has been well used. £44 is also a bit steep for a PM tee off. Staff are always great here.

Seemed to be more soggy allround

THough less rain this week, the conditions were more uniform, i.e. damp all over the course. Certainly the greens were very soft and the ball wasn't flying as far (colder??) However still alloed for decent golf. Shame my approach shots were lacking.

Second time round here, this time on a society day. Excellent course in great condition with exception of the bunkers which were all GUR due to heavy rain in the week leading up to our day. That was fair enough and didn't detract from the rest of the round. Course is interesting as always something going on with it and nice changes of elevation as you head round. Greens were a little furry (again due to the rain) so getting the pace was tricky but were fine when I played here previously. Made to feel welcome though we choose to head elsewhere for food afterwards due to the club having a separate function in the evening. Look forward to heading back a little earlier next year.

Airplanes and Ice Cream

Really enjoyed the round today and the course is in fantastic condition. I last played it in the rain and it was totally different. It was so quiet at times with only Airplanes in the Sky from nearby Gatwick and the chimes of Ice Cream Vans in the heat.
I love Hole 7 which is like playing on the moon.
