What the club says: A heathland style course with a rolling terrain and slick greens, the course has recently been extended by converting the seventh and eighth holes to par 5's. H.R.H. Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, opened them. Many of the greens have been relaid to USGA standards. The result is a challenging yet enjoyable experience for players of all abilities.

Nice course. Greens running really well despite all the rain, the course also held up well on fairways etc. Practice facilities are in the process of being upgraded to what looks like will be a very good facility.

What a lovely course, you need to play it !

This course hasn't really been on the radar with our society, mainly because of all the other options available in Leeds/Bradford, but we thought we'd give it a try anyway. We paid ?35 for the round and steak pie/fish and chips and what a bargain. This course is stunning, the greens were fantastic for the time of the year and the holes are nicely laid out and very picturesque. We managed to choose a day with snow, sleet, wind and rain but even that didn't ruin our enjoyment of what some of our 10 players said could be up there with the best courses they've played in the area. The pro shops chaps were really accommodating and pointed us to a cafe next door for brekky and we had a good chat to some of the members in the clubhouse before our round. We are already chomping at the bit to get back to this course in better weather and I think it would impress any golfers who love a 100+ year old course with some beautiful approaches to greens, so challenging par 3's and a couple of stunning signature holes. They even have a fully functioning halfway house which is good to see and I cannot find fault with this course at all. A genuine hidden gem which doesn't get the plaudits it deserves in the shadow of some much more expensive courses.

We were not disappointed

First time playing Headingly for us. We had heard so many great reports about the course, and we were not disappointed. The whole course was immaculately maintained and so well presented. It’s an absolute gem of a course and well worth the trip.

very nice scenic course, pretty open fairways so didn't lose a ball! some challenging holes with the greens quite tight in places and well protected. the greens themselves were spot on and i have to say not the cheapest course to play but worth it when you play the 17th par 3 which i don't think i've seen a better one other than on telly! a really stunningly beautiful hole.

Up and down

Played a few times and whilst I have enjoyed the visits there are quite a few consecutive holes that are very similar you feel like you've already played them. Some great holes, but 50% are average.

This was booked on tee times. The pro was friendly and helpful. The first few holes are medium length par fours, all going away from the clubhouse. The tees were in very poor condition, the fairways were ok, but soft in many places. The greens were firm, a few bumps on some putts but otherwise consistent. I would have expected more trees, gorse and heather (maybe some clearing has been going on), but it means there isn't much penalty for wayward shots. There were some good shaped holes, the 17th is a nice looking par 3, with a sloping green.

The course has changed a lot in the last couple of years due to a lot of trees and bushes being removed which was a shock. But overall the course was in great condition for this time of year. Price is a little high for winter tee times ?26

Another good one out Leeds way!

Leeds District Rabbits President's Cup - big day on a fab course. 3 different competitions played here all in one go - Ex-President's Cup, President's Cup and Visitors Cup - individual Stableford, meal, presentation and raffle - very good day but a late one!

The course was very green despite the parching weather recently, tee boxes cut, mown and flat, fairways were carrying a good long ball and leaving good lies for the iron shots, sand in the bunkers allowed play from them. There were plenty of opportunities to use the driver as well as be far cuter off of the tee when called for. The greens were short, fast and true and the hospitality we received was spot on - a really pleasant day!

Nice course with great scenery

First time playing Headingley, very impressed I was too. Friendley welcome in clubhouse and pro shop. Great practice facilities. Some great visual holes starting with the par 4 1st and finishing with par 3 17th and par 4 18th towards the clubhouse. Course in great conditions although greens were a touch slow due to recent work on them. Good food in clubhouse afterwards. Well worth a visit for sure.

Well presented course though the middle section seemed much newer than the start and finish. Lost too many balls from well hit shots, not sure where they went.

Great course with well thought out set up, pins were tough considering greens were very firm (sprinklers are currently out of action). That said greens were fast and true. Bunkers the only thing to let the course down with uneven sand leaving some parts bare and others too deep.

This is a great course. I have played it twice now and both times really enjoyed it.
The fairways are good, the greens are quick and its really well maintained. The use of the land and changes in elevation etc are excellent. Its only down side for me is the joining fee.
For me this is an excellent course and I'd happily recommend it to anyone. I'm already looking forward to going back again.
