Could be great
As a visitor I try to play as many local golf courses as I can. However I must agree with the latest reviews very poor course fairways not much better than a roller end field, fringe rough too long and the greens awful, on some the top layer was flaking off, none where very flat. The price of £10 for 9 holes which was a reduced rate was very bad £5 would still be expensive. On the plus side clubhouse staff and location great. Sincerely hope they can turn it around.Reviewer Rating

Poor
I have been playing this course for at least 15 years but sadly it is now a shambles! I accept bad weather has not helped but the fairways are not cut properly and have cut grass lying on them. In some places the grass is long enough that you can't see your ball until you are almost on top of it. The first cut is far too long and you can lose your ball in it quite easily, again with lots of cut grass left lying on the top. The bunkers were either rock hard or full of water and have lots of weeds growing out of them. The greens are not looked after and the 9th is in very poor condition, one of my playing partners ball 'took off' from the ground when he putted and it passed over poorly cut grass. The price is far too high for the standard of the course, £14.50 for 9 holes at 3.00pm on Sunday. I have looked at other courses and can pay not much more for 18 holes on a Sunday.All four of us playing have said we won't return soon despite the course only being 5 minutes from where we live. This course used to be lovely to play but not now and I fear that if things do not improve soon then it will end up closing.

Massive improvement required
This course has been lucky to survive. If a new leaseholder had not come forward it would have closed at the end of 2017. Bad winter and spring weather has left course in poor condition. Rough very long (not been able to cut due to weather), and some fairways very squelchy. Bunkers hard for same reason, with some full of water. But nice people in clubhouse/bar. Hope they get it sorted as the surroundings are very pleasant. Water can come into play on 12 of the 18 holes. Even though a 9 hole course there are two sets of tees for each 9 that alter the angles and/or distance.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 88 Handicap: 26.1)

Unfortunately So Poor
OMG — how disappointing — probably the worst condition course we have played on all year — poor greens - barely cut fairways - and concrete bunkers —We since found that there is only one green keeper expected to look after the lot with minimal equipment — the committee needs replacing ASAP -

I love this course, challenging holes but also some very playable holes to get good scores, I just had a bad day today.

The course was in great condition for time of year. Greens running true and fairway are very good. Enjoy course to play in sunny spring day, but could be difficult in winds. Staff were so helpful and had fantastic energy for the club. Amazing food, would definitely go and play course again.\\Score: 79 handicap: 14

An easy course. Great reception but the tees needed a cut. Greens werent too bad. Quite fun and good for practice

Brilliant course in peak of condition. Everything well organised and staff very friendly and helpful. Double flag greens work very well and back nine tees make for a distinctly different challenge to the front nine. A good course particularly for middle handicappers - provides a good test. Not too strenuous, flat but a good walk.

Fairly short but a reasonable challenge. Two tee boxes give variety as do the lay out of the course with a fair variety. If you hate playing holes with water go somewhere else!

Verry good course!
Will be better April 2011 as they will have 18 tees and 9 greens. Makes the holes a lot harder. Can sometimes get a bit busy
