What the club says: Ellesborough Golf Club lies on the edge of the Chilterns, near to the Chequers Estate in Buckinghamshire. The course provides panoramic views across the Vale of Aylesbury, along with the Monument on Coombe Hill as a backdrop.

Lovely challenging course.
As a former member of the club I felt the need to offer my view regarding some of the negative aspects cited in other reviews. The course was remodelled around 2019 with the intent to have it revert to its original parkland offering so a number of non-indigenous trees and scrub were removed. It took only a couple of years for the course to regain its natural beauty with lovely displays of wild orchids in the summer. Yes the greens are tricky so if you can't put then I would give it a miss in the summer. Otherwise a well-presented course which is fairly open but with some challenges. Well worth a visit. And before the doubters ask, I left because I moved out of the area.Reviewer Rating

Oh dear. I was a member for over 40 years and just played today and the course has been totally wrecked. They have removed all the definition of the course and destroyed the signature 16th Hole. This is now a field with some holes and tees. Whoever thought that this was a good idea should be asked to leave the club. Need to wait 30 years to get the course back. Would not play again.

Not the best course when very dry
The course is on a slope and so when it is very dry as it is at present, the ball simply struggles to stay on the fairway. Some of the pin positions were also a bit silly. Overall, not the nicest place to play golf(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 95 Handicap: 19.1)

One to visit
Played on a Monday in December 2017 and the course was in excellent condition .. benign conditions .... lovely fairways with plenty of room and good turf ...undulating and a decent test for my dodgy knees ... greens were excellent if devilish to putt on .. 3’ swings in my eye were really fairly straight !!!... staff were very friendly and helpful as were the members I came across I would certainly return and perhaps three putt less !would recommend anyone to visit as playable for all handicapsReviewer Rating

Very good course. Nature of course is very undulating, but fairways are generous. Greens were challenging. Course is maintained to a high standard.
