The course is pretty hilly, but relatively short par 4s give more opportunities for pars and also the occasional birdie.

New 9 hole layout

They’ve got rid of the first 2 holes and the course all takes place across the hill since it reopened as a 9 hole. You’re always on a slope but the course was quiet and we got round ok. It’s a tiring 9 holes though. Honesty box in operation. Only £7.50 or a tenner for 18 holes which is good value.

A nice little Course. A bit too hilly for me. Too many blind shots. Probably worth a visit, just to say you have had the experience.

Course extremely hilly! Designed on a hillside, so a unique course if you don't mind playing each shot on a slope!
Tee off bays poor layout and not sufficient signage to know where to play.

Also a map on the Scorecard would solve this and be helpful!

Very hilly and not very well laid out. Used guess work to find a lot of tees and direction to the greens.
Maybe a map should be made available for visitors !!!

Get the crampons on! Whilst this is a hilly course, you aren't often faced with side-sloping lies but there are more up and down hill holes than is the norm. A second viewing will be beneficial on some of the holes with blind shots and ditches in dips. Greens had a good roll to them and were true and flat, albeit small and hard to hit

What a fantastic day out! Played in the Winter Open and true lay thank full that I was with two members. There are a lot of elevated greens which are in great condition but really hard to stop on. There are shared fairways, crossover fairways and blind holes; all of which, played with care are not too concerning. The course is a fantastic cardiovascular workout and the views are sensational. The whole scene today was exacerbated by the haunting melodies of the bagpipes coming from the academy below.
Fair, challenging course with scenery to die for, mixed with great opponent, Tommy, Hugh thank you

(Round played: Aug 2015 - Score: 97 Handicap: 19.5) It may not be long but it's not easy. Quite confusing tee positions around the 5th, 7th and 15th, but friendly members were on hand to keep us right.

An enjoyable course to play. Relatively short but certainly not easy. One or two blind drives and approach shots, hidden water hazards and very tough second cut of rough. On a hillside so flat lies are the exception rather than the rule. Fast, true greens and well kept fairways.

Always a fantastic course to play, it may be short but it is a good work out on the legs and lungs. Course in good condition and some great views across the valley from the top of the course. Well worth a visit at £15 per round.

Nice course set on the side of a hill. It's short and good players will be able to get pars on most. Great views and some interesting holes. I enjoyed it and would play again

Not a long course, and really it is one that should be easy enough for any half decent players. Not all of the holes are easy pars, but with the exception of the 17th most are easy enough to at least bogey. I have no idea what is the best way to play the 17th, as there seems to be no fairway you can stick too with an iron, and there is a ditch at driver distance to catch the rest.

The views are stunning, so it is made for an enjoyable, if not steep, walk.

The downside of the course appears to be that a number of fairways cross over each other, not all of the tees are well signposted, and I had to ask which green was the 12th because from the fairway I had to choose between two. I am thankful that I did because my initial reaction would have been to go for the wrong one.

An interesting challenge of golf with no bunkers and the land supposed to provide the test. We played when the wind was blowing too which added to the interest and made for a fun round of golf.

I would definitely go back as the views from the back 9 are awesome.

This course is an absolute gem in Scottsh golf it will be a crying shame if it has to close due to the current economic climate. If you are looking for a challenge then play Dollar, more so in the walking round as it is built on the hillside. The course is not long but this year I have played it 3 times and the last twice have been in the mid 70's which I was very pleased with.
