Two courses in great conditions, dinner a treat!
Although the Ian Woosnam designed course has the start billing, both 18 hole courses are strong in their own right, if not overly long. Conditions after the hottest week on record were still very good. Rooms slightly above average this type of club, the pool was clean, in good condition and perfect temperature for a post-round cool down, spa and gym quite small but not overly busy. Pro shop was reasonably well stocked and driving range adequate. Other than the courses, the other standout part of our stay was he evening meal, good range of choices on the menu, well cooked and presented food, not AA Rosette standard but well above your standard golf club/resort fare. Only negatives were that he quality of the breakfast no way comparable to the evening meals and staff were hit and miss - some helpful and upbeat, others in a state of near depression.Reviewer Rating

Poor Condition
Played both the courses over the weekend and the old course is the more picturesque. Greens on both courses were in bad condition, disease and bone dry. Couldn’t even stop a wedge on them. Won’t be rushing back anytime. Some tees had been lost already as not watered enough, tees not cleaned and tee pegs everywhere.

A muddy mess
Played both courses on separate days and couldn’t have been more disappointed with them. Frankly they should have been closed. Wading through ankle deep mud on fairways and sinking into the greens is not my idea of enjoyable golf, and not just on one or two holes but the vast majority of them. I know we’ve had a LOT of rain but either sort the drainage or keep the courses closed in conditions like this. Shame on the management for taking our money and for not warning us before arrival about the state of the courses.Reviewer Rating

Woosnam course & Hotel stay
1 night stay with 2 rounds on the Woosnam course. The course was very hilly indeed (we needed buggies the second day; a first for us anywhere!) but it was fantastic. A real challenge, lots of variety, very good condition and cracking views. The hotel room was fine and staff were generally helpful and friendly, especially in the pro shop. Unfortunately the food was pretty average, the pool needed a clean and there was a particularly rowdy drunk group who we suspect set off the fire alarm in the middle of the night. Overall, a good value trip with the unexpected quality of the course.Reviewer Rating

Fun, easy course
Nice course! Varied layout; every hole is different. Deceptively short - it plays longer than the card. Greens very slow and rough at the moment but that should resolve.Reviewer Rating

Challenging
Course plays over undulating and scenic terrain. Greens are great surfaces but on the day we played (mid October) rest of course was saturated with most bunkers flooded of marked as GUR and out of play. The course is relatively modern but not enough money or foresight was employed in anticipating the drainage that would be required for the course. It is a good course but better in dry conditions no doubt.Reviewer Rating
