Challenging course recommended

We had a society at Dale Hill 17/4/2018. We have visited this course for a number of years. The course is challenging but we enjoy playing it as a society. This year the greens were somewhat"bumpy" which may have something to do with the weather in winter. Catering is very good and societies are sure of a warm welcome.

Society weekend.

Both courses in excellent conditions, a good test on each. Only downfall was the service in the bar and restaurant. Understandably understaffed at present but it took an age to get food and drinks. The staff that were there were excellent but they were run off their feet.

Great venue for golfing weekend

Love the set up with two courses and hotel. The new course designed by Woosey is well planned and has a great layout.

Played the Woosie. It's in great condition following the recent wet weather. Had the course to ourselves and staff at the club were very friendly. The course is probably one of the hardest I've played. At around 6,500 yards on the card, it doesn't sound that long. However, some holes seem to go on forever, especially the par 5s, all of which are very long. The greens are well gaurded and demand accurate shots. They are also very fast with lots of subtle breaks. Got on there for £20 each through teeofftimes website. Excellent value for money.

Golfshake Team ReviewWow. Played on The Woosnam course and the first 3 holes set you up for a real treat.

Perfect fairways, perfect greens, perfect bunkers. Well drained.
Green run so true which does make them a real test.

Some of the views around this course are simply spectacular, you couldn't possibly wish for a better golf course in my opinion, quite simply stunning.

4 Ball Prize

I won 2 rounds and Dinner, bed and breakfast as Dale Hill for 4 people by reviewing a course recently, we have played both the Woosnam course and the Old Course over 2 days with overnight stay. Well worth doing, we played the Woosnam first, and found this to be a great challenge, and in extremely good condition. I say that as we know they had a few problems a couple of years ago. For winter golf the course was quite challenging, not much carry in winter air conditions. We thoroughly enjoyed the round. Overnight stays great, although one of our number was disappointed that they had run out of bitter! Comfortable rooms, and great food. Played the Old Course on our second day, interesting and challenging with really long par 4 holes that were difficult to reach in two, even for our long hitters. Unfortunately we got a bit wet at the end of the round, but that wasn't the fault of the course! Both courses presented their own challenge. Can highly recommend.

Enjoyable course

Lovely to play sadly my game wasn't up to it but would love to take on the challenge again. Food in the evening was fabulous.

Played here at a Charity golf day. The Woosnam Course is challenging but great fun with some links-like long par 5s and a variety of hard par 3s. It's long and very spread out so buggy hire is sensible. Course is in excellent nick showing no evidence of the terrible leatherjacket damage they had a year or so ago. Fast greens. Bunkers in great condition, no major water hazards. Great place for societies and golf days as the modern clubhouse has all the bells and whistles and a hotel. Friendly pro shop and greenkeepers.
