What the club says: Founded in 1914 and with over 800 members, Nevill Golf Club is well placed on the Southern edge of Tunbridge Wells and has a magnificent view south from the verandah of the clubhouse over the well wooded slopes of Bayham and Frant. The course is exceptionally enjoyable and challenging at the same time and, from its tips, can stretch to nearly 6,500-yards.

greens/tees very nice and challenging and fair layout of holes but fairways are reaaly terrible in places and if you go just off fairways its very bare with lots of tree roots to avoid breaking your wrist or a club not worth the money in my opinion

Absolutely lovely course...and the food!
Lovely course with an interesting aspect to every hole. Reasonably tight most of the way round, but in excellent condition despite the drought.Some really cracking holes. It was a blistering day so no one was rushing.
Now...the food....we had a three course meal post round that was absolutely superb. What you'd expect in a very good restaurant.
The clubhouse staff were excellent too. More than welcoming and very efficient.

Worth a visit
Nice course (which I didn't play well!), well played out and the greens were very fast and difficult to hold on approach. Great for somewhere so central to Tunbridge Wells
A nice course and convenient for those in Tunbridge Wells as it is so close to centre of town but there are nicer courses a short drive away. Condition of the course was okay - particularly boggy in some areas and whilst they are improving drainage one hole was out of action and another severely shortened.Reviewer Rating

Hidden gem in Kent
Heard a lot from other keen golfers about this club and I wasn't disappointed when I finally got to play it, everyone talks about the greens but you have to be accurate off the tee and be able to think your way around this old gem.(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 82 Handicap: 9.8)

Nevill Golf Club
Undulating parkland course with plenty of challenges. Fairways were mostly in good condition but the greens were unpredictable. Surfaces were fine but not holding very well for pitch shots. Enjoyable round of golf with a good standard club house and helpful staff.Reviewer Rating

Great course
Slightly surprised we could use trolleys as the course was pretty boggy in places. But the greens were again running true and there are not many courses with prettier views.(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 92 Handicap: 17.5)

Great hidden gem
This is a beautifully presented course with stunning greens. The hospitality from the Pro shop to the bar staff was exemplary - others should learn! The course is set in Kent woodland and, though the fairways are wide, it still takes a good shot to be on the short stuff and not running into trees. You then have to make sure your approach shot has a chance because the greens are slick - be on the wrong side and its a sure 3 putt!(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 97 Handicap: 13.6)

Recently played Nevill with some friends after winning a round there in an auction, cannot speak highly enough of the course, only bettered by the service received in the clubhouse afterwards. The greens were in immaculate condition, and it's a brilliant test of golf, challenging, but fair. The only downside was that the pro shop was very low on stock due to the changing of the pro, so wasn't able to get a souvenir ball marker as I do for all courses that I play, on the up side it gives me an excuse to go down there again when the shop is stocked and play another round.

A fantastic members club, with some of the best greens in the South of England. Course is a Par 70 with narrow, tree-lined fairways and a challenging but beautiful mix of holes. Friendly welcome for all golfers, with good food and nice terrace to have a drink after the round. Halfway house is also excellent.

I very recently played the nevill on a twightlight deal ,but it still cost £30 and was very disappointed.You could see that the course was a great layout and had some very interesting holes ,but it was like a former great hotel that had fallen in to disrepair ,you could imagine how good it was and you could see the class that used to be there,the greens where very inconsistent some fast some slow some patchy some bobbley and a couple great,the fairways much the same ,some looked like they had not been visited by a divot party in years and looking like an overplayed municipal but then all of a sudden 2 shots later your ball looked like it was on a carpet ,but in general they where too long and patchy.This course has the capability of being great but at the moment it is quite away off that but still charges like it is a class act,it is not and is very over priced
