What the club says: Canons Brook has one of the best courses in the region. Designed by the legendry Sir Henry Cotton and matured over 40 years, it presents a truly engaging golf experience with lots of variety and all located in a beautiful setting. With experienced, qualified professionals and a well-equipped Pro Shop run by First Fore Golf, your technique and equipment needs are well-catered for too, with the use of launch monitor technology.
Situated in 112 acres of mature rolling countryside the 18 hole, 6769 yard, par 73 championship length course makes excellent use of the surrounding landscape and its numerous natural and man-made hazards and beautiful features.
The course was designed by Sir Henry Cotton, whose philosophy was to create a championship length course with very little rough, but incorporating many bunkers and large undulating greens, a task he accomplished in style. The course was opened in 1966.
A broad repertoire of shots are required to master the course, which demands that every golfer regardless of standard, is rewarded for thoughtful and skilful play rather than for power alone.

great course , with some tough par 3s
a very nice course , in a built up town , but you wouldnt know it , some great and testing holes , the greens had just been treated , so wet and sandy , but you could tell under normal conditions they would be well kept and fast , will be visiting again soon

Good Old Course

Town course, good setup
plays around harlow town industrial area and railway, sounds worse than it is, some lengthy holes though fine similar, not a huge challenge to be had, the last few holes let down being adjacent to housing where dog walkers and children roam everywhere paying no regard to it being a golf course, perhaps fence it off?! Ok but not one to revisit too often, expensive for area to

Established parkland course with some demanding holes.
Low rating for facilities as bar was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. My golf group has enjoyed a drink on Tuesdays before so perhaps not quite back to business as usual just yet.Used 2 fore 1 vouchers so an excellent days golf for ?13.50 a head. Some bunkers seem to have been left for a good while as weeds and compacted sand/ earth made them hard to play. A good dig over and a rake could really improve them.

Nice course, ignorant members!
The course: Good layout and kept very well. A number of dog legs which makes you think about tee shots and placement. Greens in good condition and run true. Not much water on the course but some strategically placed bunkers.Members: Ignorant and arrogant. We was a two ball, non-members, playing for the first time. Three groups of four ball members in front of us playing matches. Refused to let us play through even though we were on the tee with the group in front on every hole. This made for an extremely long round and an undesirable experience. For this reason we would not return to play here. Not etiquette of speeding play up and a flat refusal to let a two ball through a four ball. Shocking.

course in very good condition
Good course with some challenging holes (18th particularly), Fairways and greens in very good condition (played 4 July 2019),

Brilliant Day
Have been going for a number of years and have always had a great reception, great food and the course ain’t bad either. No I jest the course was in great condition, with sufficiently challenging holes for all handicaps. In all a great day

Big improvements
Played Canons Brook for first time in years and must say that it has improved from my last visit. Really well looked after and the greens were in great condition. Will definitely be returning sooner this time.

Enjoyable round
We have played a few rounds during the week starting at 5pm and have had the course pretty much to ourselves. The course is in generally good condition. It is relatively long but the fairways are wide so is a great driving course. At £20 a round it is also fantastic value.

One of the best in Essex
The course is in great condition, a good test for all standard of golfs, the food will fill you up,(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 84 Handicap: 11.4)

(Round played: Apr 2019 - Score: 96 Handicap: )

Challenging but Enjoyable
Great course. Challenging layout, makes you think. Some very pretty holes, you would not believe you were in a large town(Round played: Apr 2019 - Score: 110 Handicap: 28)
