What the club says: Canons Brook has one of the best courses in the region. Designed by the legendry Sir Henry Cotton and matured over 40 years, it presents a truly engaging golf experience with lots of variety and all located in a beautiful setting. With experienced, qualified professionals and a well-equipped Pro Shop run by First Fore Golf, your technique and equipment needs are well-catered for too, with the use of launch monitor technology.

Situated in 112 acres of mature rolling countryside the 18 hole, 6769 yard, par 73 championship length course makes excellent use of the surrounding landscape and its numerous natural and man-made hazards and beautiful features.

The course was designed by Sir Henry Cotton, whose philosophy was to create a championship length course with very little rough, but incorporating many bunkers and large undulating greens, a task he accomplished in style. The course was opened in 1966.

A broad repertoire of shots are required to master the course, which demands that every golfer regardless of standard, is rewarded for thoughtful and skilful play rather than for power alone.

Brilliant Day

Have been going for a number of years and have always had a great reception, great food and the course ain’t bad either. No I jest the course was in great condition, with sufficiently challenging holes for all handicaps.
In all a great day

Big improvements

Played Canons Brook for first time in years and must say that it has improved from my last visit. Really well looked after and the greens were in great condition. Will definitely be returning sooner this time.

Enjoyable round

We have played a few rounds during the week starting at 5pm and have had the course pretty much to ourselves. The course is in generally good condition. It is relatively long but the fairways are wide so is a great driving course. At £20 a round it is also fantastic value.

Here on a society day. Good course with plenty of variety. Fairways are pretty dry in places with a few cracks but greens were decent and had obviously been looked after. Decent clubhouse and bar. Food was a bit mixed with catering having gone in house same day we were there so may need a bit of time to bed in. Worth playing if you're in the area.

As most courses was very dry and hard with the hot summer we’re having but the course was really tidy and the greens were perfect.

Challenging but fun!

Some well thought out holes needing decisive club selection.

A little pricey for the round with a buggy though.

Nothing not to like

Busy on Saturday morning, quiet on Saturday afternoon.
After the comps and regular players have gone this feels pretty relaxed. We were moving fast and other players called us through, almost too keen at times! As well as being welcoming the pros were nice, helpful and the course is really well turned out. Talking about going back next week!

Good challenging course

Have played Canons Brook numerous times, and it is always in good condition. The course was hard yesterday which definitely helped with the run out on the drives.

Enjoyable challenge

This course has improved immeasurably following ownership change and is now a pleasure to play. Quite long with some challenging holes, but good wide fairways give a chance to score well if you keep straight. Tees, greens & bunkers were all much better than I had expected to find here and staff I saw were all very courteous. I’m a member at another golf club but also like to try different courses. Head greenkeeper Damien seemed genuinely pleased I had chosen to play his course.... well, I have already booked to return!
